Theres been a few posts about Petone v Taranaki but of course there's one more hurdle they have to cross before they even get to play Taranaki.

Is there anyone on the forum from Fed 4 area who can enlighten us on who Petone are likely to be playing and most of all, whats the vib up that way on how this team will fair against Petone.

Palmerston NORTH END won the western side and will play off against the winner of the eastern side, which is Cru-Bar Maycenvale United..

don't know how good that latter is but looks like they have a solid defence with only 7 goals against

Maycenvale are a fairly good team - have a look at soccereast.org.nz in the pacific premiership section for a feel for their team - some familiar names like Adams and Halford.  No idea what the Palmy team is like.

Maycenvale have also recently signed Sam Messam - Hawkes Bay United striker who has been banging them in.  9 in the 4 games since he's signed.

Toffeeman, do you know if Petone have signed anyone for the playoffs?

Normo's coming home

Not sure if they're going to play or not. Have been out of the loop a bit with not playing this season. It's tough on the current players, especially the keeper, but thats life I guess. I did see the keeper, Simon, was MoM against Tawa so maybe it has given him a hurry up.
I think Karlos and Azza will add a lot of experience and will definatly help but it is wait and see to how well the fit in to the squad. I don't even know if they've been training with the squad.

Its no longer a problem.

I thought that those guys had to sign with a winter club (to play in NZFC), but they never planned on playing, and if they do then it will stuff up the number of clubs played for rule for them

I spoke to the goalie of those three the otherday and he reckons they will most likely not feature at all for Petone this season.

Heard Karlos was at training last night but is playing down the grades this weekend to get his second game in to qualify for the playoffs... The other two are hanging out for the last Nix spot so will not feature this season...

Jimmy B unlikely to get a nix's spot as they already have 3 keepers.
