This big Chatham Cup clash on Sunday will mark All White great Ivan Vicelichï¿½s first Chatham Cup appearance in a decade.

It thus seems fitting that his Central United team will line up against Waitakere City - the club where Vicelich began his senior football career some 16 years ago.

Vicelich has won the Chatham Cup twice before with Central, in 1997 and 1998 and has played 97 matches for the club, scoring 18 times.

Prior to joining Central in 1996, he played 64 matches for his opponents this weekend, Waitakere City, with whom he also won the Chatham Cup, in 1994.

He has twice won the Jack Batty Memorial Trophy (for player of the Chatham Cup Final) ï¿½ with Central in 1997 and with Waitakere in 1994.

Vicelich has also won a National League title with each club - in 1999 with Central and 1995 with Waitakere.

He left Central in 1999 to embark on a 10 year professional career that saw him play for the now defunct Football Kingz along with Dutch sides Roda JC Kerkrade and RKC Waalwijk. He has amassed nearly 70 caps for the All Whites and is widely regarded as one of the finest footballers New Zealand has produced.

He returned home from Holland in 2008 to lead Auckland City FC to the NZFC/O-League double last season.
