I put on a multi for all four games, but forgot to click %age bet and absent mindedly put on an epic $60 bet. Be sweet if it comes off!

I do like a good gamble, but could you explain what it means when you click the percentage box?

A percentage bet you pay a pertcentage of the price of the Multi bet (or first four, trifecta or pick 6) and in return get a percentage of the prize.

So you could have a $5% bet which will give you a 10% return (the return is determined by the number of options) so if the Multi pays $500, you get $50, but you have only had to stake $5 rather than $50

This better make sense given that I work at the TAB!

i would have but its not easy to work out on out 1980's terminals!

also with only 4 options its probably not worth doing a percentage bet as you could end up with less than you put on

It was Men against boys, Wests a very tidy side and comfortable on the ball, but just totally out muscled by a very strong and skilful Napier outfit.

Great to see Billingsley live - player of the day for me for Wests - puts himelf about - a good touch and turn of speed - played quite wide on the left so was hard for him to get in on goal - Wests lacked a target man in the middle - so their attack was a bit blunted - but as said earlier - nice inter passing and deft touches - unfortunately the many passes came to naught.  As Hoddle said - Men v Boys - Wests are a team of the next few years if they can retain players or keep the Ole production line coming - number 14 for Wests looked like he was 14 himself - pretty cool to see a wee man running midfield - hope he is aligned and eligible for higher honours, Good luck to NCR - they play at a high speed and their fans are loud and proud. Keep it in the Central League.

Very true about Billingsley, strong fast and skilful, big future ahead for that lad. With the young number 14 for Wests, Owen, for someone so slight playing in the middle of the park against strong experienced Napier brutes, he really looked composed and unruffled by the pressure put on him. Very keen to see how far he goes.

Birko 3 Central 0

Really only one team in it.

Central had nothing in the midfield and up front to threaten Birko. Had a good 20 mins after half time when they pushed Vicelich a bit further forward but that was about it. Was surprised that only Ivan and Spoonley (who was poor) were there from their Auckland City resources.

Birko weren't that great but certainly by far the better side. The two old fellows Coombes (who was my MOM , even though he got his usual stupid booking) and Dickinson (the young Central defenders couldn't handle his sly tricks) were the difference.

Was surprised Ivan got a booking - thought that wasn't allowed !

Given the weather Shepherds Park was in great condition - reasonable croud , although thought it might have been more ?

It was a very entertaining game in which the result could have gone either way tbf. Mangere only really threatened on the counter through Sanny Issa but when he went off injured, Mangere's chances dried up. Pitch conditions meant that barely any football could be played but the red card and Mangere scoring from the resulting free kick sunk Tech

standard:

Edge, whose Ole Academy in Porirua supplied plenty of teenage talent to the club, was happy with his team's efforts. They had reached the last eight with a 7-2 win at Wairarapa.

"Elliot scored seven goals in three games and it was very difficult to replace him. We had six or seven players aged 16. But we knew that, and we are a club that tries to engage with the community and develop young players and move them on. Their team doesn't do that," Edge said.

"I'm proud of the number of young players that we play and I'm proud of the way we play the game. We go out and pass the ball around.

"Our intention is not to win ugly; we want to win playing entertaining football. I don't want to comment too much about other teams but maybe they don't have that intent. It's all about winning.

are there any others that are better than what's there?

North Force probably think they're quite good, and Melville are Northern Premier League...

But, I don't know the South Island. It's very pretty though!

I was there. Napier were bigger, stronger and classier. In the second half increasingly the 50-50 contests went NCR's way as the smaller Wests players were muscled off the ball. There was some niggle, but nothing really notable. It wasn't really a bad tempered affair.

Noah Billingsly did win heckle of the day, when at 2-0 down he said to NCR's right back "You might win the game but you'll still be ugly tomorrow..."

I've heard Bono has made the same comment almost verbatim after a number of matches this year, some to the amusement of people who have watched them go long into the channels for 90 minutes.

A pity that he feels the need to denigrate other sides instead of just pushing his positive story without trying to bring others down.

Getting really tired of Declan Edge. He continually gets found out by people who know the game so he tries to convince the masses that he knows more than everyone else and he's the only person that promotes 'football'. It's not 2006 anymore. Tika Taka has been found out. His teams are predictable and missing key ingredients to be succesful. Coaching a team to win is just as important as coaching a number 6 to drop into the back 4 on EVERY SINGLE OCCASION. There's no pace, his teams aren't dynamic, they are safe. No risk, no reward. Be braver Declan.
