Well, that is interesting.

Off at Tristram Ave, turn right under the motorway and the ground is on the left.

From memory.

At the lovely Becroft Park not far from Wairau Road.

Three for me, and two for them.

Have a read of the Otago thread.  It's like a little snapshot of Park life - in jokes, and gags only understood by two people - but somewhere in there it should say something about Cavvy.

It is rather small. Will be interesting to see how they fit all the spectators in there, and in their clubrooms.

Huge day for FHM though, probably the biggest in their history.

Three for me, and two for them.

Time for some predictions ie i'm bored and am killing time.

Buffon II wrote:

Quarter Final Draw:

Manurewa v Nelson Suburbs

Rewa are doing ok in this years NPL in 5th and have knocked out last years champs Bays along the way to the Quarters. When i had a squiz at the Mainland Prem table i was very surprised to see Nelson bottom, even more so when they only had a -2 goal diff and had conceded 11 in 9 games. I'd suggest they're better than this. Despite that i will pick Manurewa to edge this.

Buffy says: Manurewa 1-0
.

Miramar Rangers v Waitakere City

Probably the tie of the round. Hard to pick this one. I see Mar in 3rd in the Central League having only lost 1 game and scored a ton of goals but having conceded a fair few too. Waitak have blitzed the US1 League so far this season and have done so playing some fine football at times. If Krishna is available he could be the difference. Very very difficult this one.

Buffy says: 2-2 draw. Toss a coin on the penos.

Caversham v Three Kings United

Tough draw for dark horses Three Kings. Caversham at the head of the Southern League as per usual and hammered rivals Tech in the last round to get here. Three Kings have demolished all in thier way in the Northern Div 1 and proved their pedigree by beating NPL leaders Lynn Avon on the weekend. This will be far different however and the long trip south may be a bridge too far.

Buffy says: Caversham 2-1.

Forrest Hill Milford v Wellington Olympic

Great draw for Forrest Hill. Just last year playing the likes of Warkworth, West Auckland and Te Atatu. They've proved themselves in this years US1 Prem and have knocked out sides such as Melville, Ellerslie and Glenfield on their way to their first ever Quarter Final. Olympic unbeaten in the Central League but have a lot of draws leaving them in 4th, don't know if they expect more or less. Will be a wonderful day for the Swans, but unfortunately the occasion is all they will have to celebrate.

Buffy says: Olympic 2-0.

Hope the FHM game is on a Sunday so i can go watch.

Three for me, and two for them.

Can Andy Barron play? I seem to remember Wests losing a game because they played Adam Birch too quickly?

Providing he has made two appearances for any team within the club first. Yes.

FHM are at home to play North Shore united I watched the game on Sunday Glenfield all right for the 1st ten minutes then FHM  took over, former wellington boy and Capt Chris Morris dictated the midfield and Brent Fisher and De Vries who is like lightning scored,Tamati Williams in goal was outstanding, regardin Becroft Park I think it will be transferred, the rest of the ground has been sandslit and is fenced off apparently the inquiry to Glenfield to use their ground may be the answer for them?

As good a draw as possible for the wellington clubs.
Doubt whether FHM will play at Becroft although would be a great ocassion for them.
Trying to think of an equivalent ground in Wellingon - perhaps Wakefield without the wind ?. Basically you can park your car above the pitch and watch.Surface okay but has had a lot of work done on it in last two years. No spectator  facilities at all .

They are very good have a lot of players that really shouldnt be playing 1st division!!

Greg Walters Waikato keeper
3 Matthews brothers Sam, Joel & Jake
Luiz del Monte Nick Robson (although he didnt play saturday)
Stuart Hogg
also had Jesse Scott Dan Rowland on the bench
not much in centre of defence though

Bit harsh. They do have clubrooms, which in turn provide food and drink for customers.

And they have a bank.....of sorts.

Three for me, and two for them.

Agreed, they are a very good side. They had some American dude playing centre back when I last saw them. Word on the street is that Max Manko has gone back to Three Kings from Central? That true, Ted

I'm glad we're not relying on your imagination all the time, DRX.

If Andre Sherard is Greg Walters' brother ... LOL! The phrase used on Merseyside is chocolate-dipped!

He's ex-UNC (North Carolina Tar Heels), and came to TKU from the Atlanta Silverbacks in the United Soccer Leagues. Very tidy defender, naturally left-footed. Played fullback on Saturday.

One lad not mentioned earlier who wasn't in the squad on Saturday - Glenn Eie.

Could be quite a decent quarter-final, this one.

Cheers,

a very attacking and fit side, all the home games i have been to this season they have been far better then the other div 1 teams, i think they played Hamiton Wanderers in the early round and beat them with ease and hamilton is coming 4th in the Premier div. Jacob has been outstanding everytime i have been down. Del Monte has a pretty good free kick on him too

Not really a massive surprise that they're sh*tting all over the rest of the 1st Division. They would have  been pretty pissed off if they weren't the best team in it by a mile, given that they canned virtually all of last season's squad (apart from 1 player I think) and coaching staff and threw all their 'resources' into filling their squad with NZFC level players for this year.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Yep thats true frustrated at lack of game time
I'm pretty sure he is cup tied for Chatham cup though and will be tough for him to get a start
with the squad they have
