Nelson vs Wests
Tech vs Miramar
ECB vs Waitak
Glenfield vs Central

Can't believe ECB avoided Central.

Three for me, and two for them.

Not as disconcerting as hearing us talk about who we think will win football games which have now been played.....

Bob, Bob, Bob. When are Wests haters like yourself going to give this crap a break. I think you will find that with this latest draw, only 4 of the last 10 Wests Chatham Cup games have been at home. Yeah that really sounds like a paid Western Suburbs home draw to me!

In the last 3 years Wests have played 18 cup games, of those 12 have been at home

And let,s not forget 2 of the 18 were finals in Auckland so really it's 12 home games out of 16 possible ones

I think you will find you are wrong.  Excluding last years final because it is at a 'neutral' venue. My math says its 6.

2007 CC

Western Suburbs 4 Waterside Karori 1 (H)
Western Suburbs 3 Tawa 1  (H)

Wellington Marist 0 Western Suburbs 3 (A)

Wairarapa United 1 Western Suburbs 1. Wests won 2-1 aet (A)
Western Suburbs 1 Miramar Rangers 0 aet.  (H)

Caversham 1 Western Suburbs 3 (A)
Central United 0 Western Suburbs 0 aet.  (Neutral)

2008 CC

Western Suburbs 9 Brooklyn Northern United 1 (H)

Western Suburbs 3 Island Bay United 0 (H)

Western Suburbs 5 Maycenvale Utd 2 (H)

Wellington Olympic 1  Western Suburbs 3 (A)

Nelson Suburbs v Western Suburbs (A)

And going back to 2006. All six were at home plus one neutral final

Western Suburbs 9  North Wellington 0 (H)

Western Suburbs 5 Victoria University (H)

Western Suburbs 7 Petone (H)

Western Suburbs 2 Stop Out        1  (H)

Western Suburbs 1 Roslyn Wakari 0 (H)

Western Suburbs 4 Caversham 0  (H)

Western Suburbs 0 Eastern Suburbs 0 aet (Neutral)

cant belive they didnt have to play away from home for the 2006 cup apart from the final.... that is diabolical.

It is less than a 2% probability.  12 home game in 16 are good odds.

Pretty good too see the regional side of the draw disbanded ...yeah right a crock the auck sies playing each other  whats the chance of central v ecb in one semi...quite high i would say

2nd best you have left out last years semi-final in Dunedin vs Caversham and the final was not neutral. It was at Kiwitea St as it had already been decided that the winner of the Central v North Shore semi would host the final. I also said out of the last 10 games. Its actually 6 out of the last 12 (seasons 07 and 08)

Awesome,

Get to see another game at the Calley, haven't seen Miramer play but I'll wager they will beat Tech. (Hope I'm wrong)
Tech were physicaly too strong for Cavvie, though Tech may be on the slow side as the Comp goes Nationwide.

Sorry ollie.  must have missed the SF.  Have updated my post.  Just to be clear, I'm not implying any dodgy business at all.

I don't get why you stopped at last 10 games?  Pretty tactical cut off point isn't it?

I thought the final was always going to be at North Harbour because it was meant to be netural.  however there some other event booked so another auckland site (as to get bigger crowds) had to be choosen.  This has nothing to do with the vaguaries of the draw, which is the point Bob is making (i think)

Haha I could have gone back to the 06 season but
1. that would have stuffed up my stats and
2. i was trying to make the point that you couldn't say that "Wilson Suburbs" had rigged the draw over the last couple of seasons. 12 games, 6 home, 6 away.

The final last year could have been in Wellington or Dunedin. It didn't have to be in Auckland. It was just that, that semi's winner was drawn out to host the final when the semi draw was made. So the final wasn't neutral.
