So Wests have played 240 minutes of Chatham Cup Final football in the last year, and not scored a goal yet?

Both times they were not even expected to win the games, they have done extremely well to keep both Easts and Central scoreless (whether through bad luck, poor finishing etc)!

Great how there was absolutely no coverage on telly, nor the news....  Well done NZ Football.

it's a joke, they deserve a good kick in the arse.  there's not even a score posted on the nzf website, i had to come here to find out.  these are the people we trust to run our game and this can only destroy it.

listened to the game on the radio. Great radio coverage but would have loved to have seen Young miss all of his chances.

Sorry- don't have the ability to hire tv production company and negotiate with SKY.  Do pay levies and NZFC entry fees to NZ Football but what exactly does that get me?  Not a lot.  Don't even get much coverage of NZFC apart from the Auckland games.  W@nkas!

I heard Telfer on the radio this morning saying he was it the final. His first live penalty shoot out. I`m thinking his son dragged him along for fathers day. Some fathers day present for a rugby/netball fan. That boy must be keen on his football. It`s just a matter of time before he drags him down to Wellington for a Phoenix game.

Mr Helen Clark and Dicky Hubbard were also at the final. Big crowd and just as well it was played at Kiwitea Street as would have been another loss making exercise at North Harbour Stadium. I hope Central got to keep the gate and that NZF didn't ask for a cut. I've got a mate in the know who suggested the game could have been shown live FOR FREE but NZF decided against it. I get the impression SKY give them a few free broadcast games each year and considering this is the biggy as far as winter football goes in New Zealand, it would have been good to get it on the tele.
The game itself wasn't a spectacular all exciting affair, with Grant Young missing 4 one-on-ones and Keryn Jordan ballsing up down the clubroom end late in the game.
I didn't think much of Wests although Jon Harrahap continues to impress me. The rest were just faces doing things adequately but no-one from either side seemed to want to take responsibility.
Well, I'm being harsh here. Luiz Del Monte was by far the most nippy player buzzing around on the pitch trying to make things happen and it's no surprise that he won the Jack Batty Trophy for the best player in the final. No one else was in with a shot of that cup. Whoever chose the recipient got it right for sure.
Telfer at a football game!! My god, he must have been sniffing around the PM. What kind of male loser commentates on netball? That's a job real experts should be doing...like women.

Tv 3 had a story on it tonight, tough luck for peters but someone had to miss

That someone could have been Grant Young. There was a bit of a "oh no" groan when he stepped up to take his pen...and he wasn't in the first 5 for Central either! Imray got a hand on his kick but the power took it past him and into the net. Had he got a little more on it, it may have been a different story. Peters spooned it over the bar and that was it.
Best bit was the free beer and seeing Loz's Boobs on Bikes pics on his mobile phone up in the Central sponsors lounge after the game.

Saw highlights on TV3 news on Monday night and then World of Football (Sky Sport) had extended highlights and the winning captain and the MVP in the studio. Quite well done so perhaps people shouldn't be so quick to bag them.

Youngs finishing was abysmal (would have brought out the "couldn't score in a brothel" chant from the YF for sure) and it looked like Imray actually dived out of the way of his penalty and still got a hand to it.

Sam Peters penalty was just poor technique, he was leaning back when he hit it so it was always going high.

Rupert Ryan had a chance to win it for Wests near the end but hit the crossbar but judging on the number of chances, much as I hate to say it, Central deserved the win.

You're right.  A few minutes coverage over 24 hours after the event in the premier club knock-out competition is something we should be thankful for.  My bad.  Now, where is the third replay of Southland Wairarapa Bush rugby match I was looking for?  There it is...
