I'm very happy that the draw for the quailying round has mixed federations together, not stuck to local play-offs. We, Plains Rangers, have entered the Cup fior the first time and are excited to be entertaining Internationale from Auckland (Sunday League Premier div) on Anzac Day. Much better than having to knock our neighbours out of the cup. Te Puke, half an hour west of us, have also got an Auckland Sunday league team. It all adds to the colour and drama of the Cup. Mind you we are also glad we were drawn at home, still, well done whoever made the decision to combine Federations.

The missing fixtures for the next round will become known once the Central Region ties in the Anzac weekend round take place - the May 17-18 draw for that area has yet to be revealed.

You, my friend, are a LEGEND. I've been searching all over for the time for todays match between Tauranga City and Onehunga (I'm in the Bay on study break) and I had no luck - but the aforementioned link just gave me the kickoff time. Cheers

Not a problem, young man.

That's why Scoreboard's your Ultimate NZ Soccer one-stop results service.

That'll be because I'm updating Scoreboard at present for the entire country, not just Waikato. It's not a five-minute job, more like 2-3 hours each Tuesday or Wednesday evening. And unlike the federation's effort, spelling mistakes are minimal at most.

You'd think a federation would know how to spell the names of the clubs under their jurisdiction, not to mention their home grounds, eh? Witness (these are the correct versions) Claudelands Rovers, Ngaruawahia United, Huntly Thistle, John Kerkhof Park ... and they can correct Internationale, NZ Celtic Supporters and Onehunga-Mangere United while they're at it.

Oh, and pray tell what is the Northeren Region?

All these things reflect poorly on the organisation from which this information is sourced. Time for some attention to detail to be paid, and some standards to be raised, methinks.

Doesn't include the US1 Premiership though.

And that will continue to be the case - see below as to why!

PS  Waikato Forever, thanks for the amendment re Thames' ground. Happy to work with you, too, but it does help to know the natural identity of the person with whom I'm working, rather than a pseudonym.

So the Northern League 1st Division is of a higher standard than the US1 Premiership? I don't think so.

Three for me, and two for them.

But it's still part of the Northern League, isn't it, Buffon? And the Northern League is the highest level of competition available to clubs in the northern region.

Your federation opted out of that - wrongly, in the view of many, including several of the clubs they are purported to represent - and have instead come up with a dumbed-down Mickey-Donald Duck-Mouse in-house social grade alternative which, you'll doubtless have noticed, is enjoying even less publicity than is afforded club rugby these days.

Just like your CEO over there, I will not compromise on my stance over this issue. There is a principle at stake here, and it involves the game's greater good, something which your CEO's actions in withdrawing the federation's clubs from the Northern League does not serve in any way whatsoever.

As far as league action goes, only two North Harbour federation teams will be afforded coverage on Scoreboard and Sportsweb Soccer this season, and they are Glenfield Rovers and Waitakere City in the Northern Premier Women's League.

The position at the moment is the large ability gaps in the US1 and the northern league 1st division. Sure there is good teams but there is also mug teams which is lowering the overall level of football. We will have to see how US1 goes in chatham cup to see whether they have suffered from the new league?

East Coast Bays to lose to Fury....

We had a good battle with internationale, until our centre midfielder had his ankle broken by a bad tackle. Result... a free kick to us (kindness of the local official!) and a very talented 19 year old out for the season.

I think the Chatham Cup is open to any affiliated club in NZ, so if a Sunday League team pays their SNZ affiliation fees then they're elibile, thats my understanding. Yep well done to TBC, they'd have taken taken some bruises back to Tauranga with them if Ngongy play their traditional game!
We were due to play TBC on the Saturday (Cup games on the Friday) but luckily we postponed it. The young boys would have been irrepressible, and we were depressable!
