I don't reckon Rapa will be behind at full time anyway. Wait and see

Interesting draw. 5 central league teams, 5 non-central league teams yet in a "random" draw there are no Central league match ups. DODGY to say the least.

Its no longer a problem.

i'm with you toffeeman. very rarely do you see central league teams drawn against each other early on in the cup - slightly fixed i'd say.

Marist to push Lower Hutt at the dreaded Kilbirnie park- may even steal it
Petone to sneak in against miramar
Olympic to beat University
Wairarapa to beat Wellington
Wests to beat tawa

Thanks for the support The Gaffer, always like to see someone who will back the Marist team...

The park itself isn't terrible at Kilbirnie, especially now its been moved in front of the clubrooms but if the wind is blowing....then yeah, it can be a shocker

my picks

well I'll take Marist 1 - 0  Lower Hutt...going with the heart
Petone 1 - 3 Mirarmar...more tough matches under their belts
Olympic 3 - 0 University...Uni not a bad defense, but Olympic just too good
Wellington United 3 - 1 Wairarapa
Western Suburbs 2 - 1 Tawa....lot of heart at Tawa in the big matches

marist vs lower hutt - could end up being a romp or a very close game, depending how hutt turn up for it.

other than that game you would be very silly not to see easy wins in the rest of the games, albeit some may be close but do any really have a chance against the central league teams? i think not.

I've changed the name of this topic to round three, as there is a preliminary round featuring the likes of Masterton and Wainuiomata that we musn't ignore

Normo's coming home

I'm picking Miramar again sorry Steve. Cup footy is all about playing with pride and passion - and I think Miramar will have the edge on the day. I think the Greeks will have some great support though

If I read the draw correctly Miramar will be at home for this round. Not always the best for Olympic and supporters.  But always a true football game on and off the park.
