Great to see some Wellington Colleges doing well in their tournaments. Unfortunately the results from today don't appear to be updated on College sport website. I see Wgtn East and Wgtn Girls going well at Nationals Sacred Heart unbeaten in Christchurch, appears both Wgtn Col and St Pats SS missed qualifing but Hibs qualified for top 8. Onslow and Tawa both qualified at PN.
Good Luck to the teams for the rest of the tournament.

College football is a total joke.

Check out the New Zealand Secondary Schools webite if you want an example

http://www.nzsssoccer.co.nz/

The tournament is on this week and it says it hasnt  been updated since 12th July.

If you hunt around the results are in fact there though

In the girls Wgtn East and Wgtn Girls have both gone through to the top 8.

Hutt Valley High has won the Rex Dawkins Cup in Auckland beating Napier Boys 4 -3 in the final.

Onslow were playing Tawa in the 5th to 8th games in Palmerston North.

There are no results yet for the Premier teams playing in Napier. The boys teams were playing for minor places but Wgtn East and Hutt High were doing ok in the girls.

Wainuiomata College is the worst for sports (for its size) in wellington, from what i hear they cant even rustle up a full soccer team! (1000+ students)

They finished 4th in The Hutt Valley mid week comp so they must have a team.
Maybe they do what all schools should and let their students play for their clubs.

According to the NZ Sec schools footy website they only qualified 10th, but its hard to take it seriously when they dont have the results updated after pool play on the 28th.

Everyone knows Hutt High has the best team in Wellington but they arent allowed to play in the premier divison.

Auckland teams continue to dominate? Does anyone know when a team from outside Auckland won the nationals?

How about finalists? I cant think of the team that Mt Albert beat in 2005 final but you would have to go back to 2002 for a non-all Auckland final......even better...when was there a final that had no Auckland teams in it?

Sacred Heart Lower Hutt came forth in Christchurch. Lost in a shoot out to Waimea College who went on to win the tournament. Easts won the nationals for third year in a row. Other Wellington area girls teams did well at tournaments as well upta2007-09-05 12:19:09

Palmy Boys was the other finalist in 2005.

I think it is because not alot of other regions have strong school boys competitions, Wellington is ok but there are still alot of teams that don't really push the top sides from there, and I know in PN that palmy boys plays in the Western premiership or whatever it is called now to get a decent level of play

well done hvhs, man when I was at naenae we used to have great battles with them!!

best or worse memory goes to me breaking my leg when we went to a tournament in wanganui after four games!!

we lost in the finals to rosmini college was crap, I think they had leo shin playing for them at the time but we did have steve gulley and joe simkins lol best though was beating kapiti in the semis which turned into a brawl after the game started by their coach lol
