Taranaki were pretty much isolated for a while. Not sure of their intentions for this year, but they haven't had any teams in the Western Premiership for the last few seasons, their clubs (as far as I know) didn't want the travel to Wanganui/Palmerston North.

bit of some not wanting to travel, bit of some not allowed in. If I remember correctly, if they wanted a team in, at least 1 other team had to be willing to do so as well. Alot of it is tied up in Team Taranaki being in the Central league. One team did qualify for the western league this year (Peringa) but last I heard the western league was disappearing (again)

Taranaki could join Capital Football ;-)

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Yeah, Central have decided to go back to Central Prem which is good, so have combined Western Prem and Pacific Prem. Wasn't really a matter of Taranaki teams qualifying - there were places for them, the clubs didn't want in.

its not so much a case of NZF letting them. They rent the feilds directly from the council, so there is nothing stopping them from having SOME teams that are not associated with Central football and others that are. Its more of, can they get enough teams to form a league.
