Eastbourne versus Stop Out
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Cliche time!! Today at CL Bishop Park, Eastbourne, football was the winner. There's something about a good end to end cup tie. This was one of them. Not sure where to start but maybe it's easiest to say APPLAUSE to everyone involved today. The hospitality of Eastbourne, the endeavour of both teams, the patience of the officials and the good turn out.Easily the biggest crowd I've seen at Bishop Park.
To anyone cynical enough to say "yeah DF that's cos your team won" let me remind you I played for both clubs. If only games were like this EVERY week...

I would only applause eastbourne and not stop out... I was at the game this arvo and the football wasnt pretty... The coach was abusing players and the team was arguing amongst each other.. The Coach oviously has no idea what he is doing when it comes to picking a 1st team.. I watched the 2nd team play yesterday at hutt park and there were better players in that team than the 1sts... I really felt that eastbourne could have won it... Any how great  hospitality and good local crowd thanks eastbourne...

I was also at both games ( 1st and 2nd ) . I would be interested to know the players you think are better in the 2nd team than the 1st team . For once in a post back up your negativty with some constructive comments .

Also I agree with dairyflat it was a very entertaining game . So either you were watching a different game or you have little knowledge of football .

If you thought that was entertaining you oviously no nothing about football...

The football was nothing special at all..

A Capital 3 side whos mid table only just going down to a Central league side by 1 goal?
Yeah real entertaining...

Thats all im gonna say.. i love stop out so i will shut my mouth from now on..
No more negative comments.. They might be negative but there all true

I watched most of this game, nice day for a drive to Eastbourne. I bloody enjoyed it, hard to believe Eastbourne are only Capital 3. Stop Out will be pleased to have finally got a win, I feel they played like a team under presure which we all know they are and Eastborne really made it hard for them though commitment and a good game plan. There were a couple of good goal mouth scrambles and great commitment players from both teams to block/ defect shots, Eastborne almost scored knocking the ball back (from half way)to Stop Outs keeper after an injury restart, once Stop Out scored with about 5 mins to go they starting knocking the ball around and they killed the game off.Well done to both teams on any entertaining game played in good spirit. A great Cup tie

It is obvious that you are in the minority who didn't find the game entertaining. As the majority of the people I spoke to enjoyed the game and it's atmosphere.
Yes we only won 1-0 but that was down to poor finishing and nothing else .
Its not that your comments annoy me it just that their is little or no balance to them.As I have said give some depth to your arguements.

I can't speak on how entertaining the game was from a spectators point of view, but Reefside I believe that saying
"A Capital 3 side whos mid table only just going down to a Central league side by 1 goal?
Yeah real entertaining... "
Isn't really fair.  Some of the best FA cups ties are the ones were lower clubs just loose or even beat big Prem sides, sure 7-0 is great to watch if you are supporting the side that won, but i'd say if you asked any Eastbourne supporter there that day they would say it was very entertaining.

I mean if we (mainly myself) had put away some of the chances we created would you say it was more entertaining?  If so then you're not really talking about the quality of football that day, but more that you wanted a goal fest.

From a players point of view, I thought we played well in periods, we moved the ball well, still a lot to work on, and we created a lot of chances, but only scored one.  Eastbourne battled hard, created a couple of chances, and were up for the game.  I think going by that it would have been entertaining and the only people who wouldn't have enjoyed it were the people who wanted to us smash eastbourne

great stuff DRG, and a closer game is positive for both teams is it not?

1. a close result for eastbourne could give them something to launch their season from
2. a close win against a lower opposition might be a good "wake up" for Stop Out
