First. Overheard, yesterday, in cafe in Molesworth Street. Two guys were talking football. One had been a regular in a side that needed to win last weekend to get promoted. His beef was that after playing the previous seventeen games an hour before kickoff he was told that some first team players were being dropped down. He didn't get on at all. Pretty angry. Couldn't make out what club he was talking about.

Second. Spoke to friend on Sunday. He was on the committe of a club for a while but stepped down a couple of seasons back. He was teling me that he was just doing some catch up with people from the club. They were complaining to him that they hadn't got in all of their subs yet. YET?

( What is with some people and playing subs? My favourite line this season is "I am here to play football not to pay money..." )

"by any means neccesary" is my favourite tagline for that one df. The player had the pleasure of playing 17 games during the season and his attitude is that of someone who is more concerned about his own agendas. in the past ive been known to be a bit selfish and "me me me" but nowadays, as a 24 year old, i've tried to be a lil more mature about these things.....maybe he should try it as well.

subs subs subs - havent paid them since i was 16 so i cant comment......they're a bugger for all clubs and all chairmen at those clubs, i know that much.

My only gripe is with Upper Hutt putting me and Ryan Sanford out for the season in our 2 league outings with them (Cap Prem) - b@stards! hahahahaha (good luck against Marist to Dave E and the lads, whoop dat trick!)

well, that makes me feel old (31 if we're counting)

My end of season moan is upstart youngsters not respecting the older generation-
mumble groan, nah actually its lower grades like ours (Capital 8) being shoved aside to randy old parks all over the show when we DO pay subs and plenty of them, prbably bankrolling the whole thing.

Despite my wine influenced whine i reckon Football is small enough in Wellington for everyone to realise that this is a community-everyone needs to respect each other, pay their way (i.e. Pay subs and do you turn in the clubrooms) and stop pretending we're playing in the U17 world cup every weekend-

my end of season positive is this forum- a chance to meet other players online and debrief and prebrief games- awesome work YF..............

For our last game, our opposition didn't bother to turn up... didn't advise they were defaulting either, so my team turned up amped for the last game, and it was a big no-show... **sigh**

Usual moans: refferrees, pitches, injuries, politics, blah, blah, blah. Same sh1t, different season. Get over it. Enjoy the summer, get to preseaon in Jan, do it all again.

we weren't happy cos the worst team in our grade defaulted. If they hadn;t we could have ended up with 60 for the season. Our striker was pissed, he fancied his chances of socring 4 to make 30

MOAN MOAN MOAN>>>. we won the Capital 1 masters by 14 points cause we were the dogs bollox in that league ,but we still had to play a mickey mouse four way round robin at the end of the season with the four top teams ,all a bit yawn and difficult to get enthused about ,still looking forward to the Masters in Napier and the 9 aside summer league at Mt Albert in Wgtn!!
