Local womens football (incl. W League)

I was meaning more that she will be playing with better girls where she is week in / week out (quicker pace, more combinations, potential further progression in cups etc)

I wonder if going for W-League will in fact will hinder Wests keeping their current players. I know the step from Prem to W-League puts off some players. Has done in the past at least. I hope they do keep their players though as the majority are still developing.

Maybe Wests could reach out to the W-League players that Stop Out did have?
A quick search on old match day programmes - it wouldn't be hard to find them.

just reading the 2018 playing regs  and CF say:

Tier 2 - Women’s Premier league:

i. At the end of the 2018 season, we will be moving to an 8-team league, therefore

the top two teams will be promoted to the W-League and the bottom two teams

relegated to Women’s 1.

It also confirms no relegation from w-,league, so 8 team league in 2019 planned

Can't confirm that wests are taking the spot, but I do see in comet that they have replaced stop out. Stop out still appeared a couple of days back.

Looks to me as though W-League and Prems draws have been taken down from the website.

I have the draw for Womens Div 1-3 and Stop Out aren't in Div 1, so they must be in Prems? Surely won't go from a W-League and Div 1 team last year to just a Div 2 team

Wests are having another open session on Monday. 6.30-8pm at Ole.

West are blackmailing OLE players, saying if you don't play for West you can't be part of OLE. 

Hardly surprising, that's a pretty key message of the yoof boys program. Most, if not all ole kids don't play school, Don't play FTC, and let Ole manage their physical loading.

Gee youth players have to pay out serious coin to go to Ole and then Ole  stand over them  to play for Wests. If the youths refuse, Ole   kick them  out and Ole loose income. 

if you've got a player at ole you need to buy into the fees and the wider philosophy. *shrugs*

would point out there are various full and partial scholarships every year

Should the Phoenix academy allow their players to play for whatever club they want?

If they have given players an ultimatium (can anyone verify this?) seems a bit rough.. given these players would have already committed to other teams.

And is Ole coaching the Wests Women's team this year? 
Because they weren't coaching the Premier League team last year, ie the Premier League players...

Pretty sure Ole has been doing this for a few years, so unless they're not telling people when they join I don't see the problem here. Or is this about them telling girls who were previously only training there that they have to play for the new team?

Its entirely about this. They have never had 'rules' for the handful of girls that they coach... until now it seems.

Sure- accept that. It's been mostly clear that it has been an ambition of Ole to have a Female Academy side, and they've used this opportunity to get the team into the W-League and start this a year sooner than expected.

Fwiw, Phoenix yoof players can turn out for school if not required that weekend by the nix , ole do not do this. The reason is, Ole have always seen players having multiple different coaches with different styles - school, FTC, club etc a profound dysfunction and confusing for players.

Ultimately, you have to weigh up the pros and cons and make the choice right for your player

It's an extremely stupid answer. 

Freedom of association is generally held as the right to form societies, clubs or movements free from government interference. Capital Football is a hardly established by government decree.

There are no provisions blocking any player from playing for western suburbs. Just because i can kick a ball, doesn't mean i can then demand to turn out for their central league team.

In the same way, Ole can select players based on a set of development criteria they feel relevant. Please point to case law which has determined otherwise.

The partnership between Wests and Ole is no secret. It's been like this for a good few years now and neither entity is shy of telling everyone how it is. If you don't know how it works before approaching either than you clearly aren't doing your homework on the partnership and how it works.

In the four years our son has been at Ole the annual costs, when broken down to a session basis, have been significantly less than our other kids swimming lessons, music lessons, singing lessons and the math's tutor. We paid more for our eldest to play college netball last year and be coached by a parent clearly out of her depth.

A couple of years ago my son was 'invited' on a trip to Aussie to play in a tournament. The costs involved in those seven days alone were more than three years at Ole.

For every person wanting to leave there are dozens wanting to sign up.

I don't know what's going on with the womens team but it seems perfectly reasonable to have no rules when only a handful are involved but once you start running a proper full team you bring in some structure around it. I just don't see how that is even worthy of discussion.

Looking at the transfers out of Western Suburbs I can only see Jessica JENKINS 20/01/2003 (15) who has transferred out this year. Because of her age unlikely they will target her? So any other players they are targeting are currently (and have previously been) playing with other clubs.

A week out from the competition starting its morally questionable to target (or give an ultimatum to?) players committed to other clubs.

twenty odd years ago some secondary schools stood over kids making them play for their respective school teams. A number of parents took legal action and guess what?  the parents won and the schools backed off

That is why  forcing kids to play for schools is a lot less prevelant today.
