Karori, Onslow and North Wellington Junior Football Clubs invite applications for the position of Coaching Development Coordinator.  The role is based in Wellington, New Zealand.

This is an exciting opportunity for a coach/coach educator to work with junior coaches and players across the western suburbs of Wellington which incorporates more than 2000 junior players.  We are looking for an outstanding coach who will educate, mentor and develop the coaches across the three clubs.  The role will be tasked with the responsibility of developing a local program and working with both Capital Football and New Zealand Football to create a best practice model for the region

Onslow and Karori are the two largest junior clubs in the Capital Football Federation and together with North Wellington account for a significant proportion of junior player numbers in Wellington.  All three clubs have a fine tradition of producing players who have gone on to represent New Zealand at under age and senior levels.  The clubs have also been proactive and leading edge in their approach to developing their coaches and players with initiatives such as a Coaches Academy.  The intended appointment of this role is a further progression of the vision for a collaborative approach to furthering the development of local players and coaching resources.

This new position will be headquartered at the Karori clubrooms and will report to the Chair of the three clubs Coaching Committee.  The Coaching Development Coordinator will:

-Develop, lead and manage the coach development programme that contributes to the three clubs coaching programme objectives.

-Increase and sustain coaching capability.

-Introduce international best practice coaching techniques.

-Mentor volunteer and paid coaches.

-This role is initially for a fixed period of one year, at which time we expect the  position to become permanent (subject to funding).

Along with an absolute passion for the game of football, we are looking for a person who enjoys working with children, and has initiative and drive.  To be successful in securing this rare opportunity, you will likely have most of the following skills:

-Excellent knowledge of the game of football and the coaching process.

-A National Academy Coaching License or similar license level (minimum) or working towards.

-Coach education development experience.

-A specialist interest in core football techniques.

-Have worked with a diverse team, including volunteers.

-Good computer and general communication skills.

For a position description, please go to any of the 3 Clubs websites.
