Footbool KINGZ * FC Fan Club
Remember them? they were pretty good before they got 'converted' into the Knights
Anyways, chat about how much you loved/hated them and share your thoughts on why they never made it BIG
oh BTW Jason Batty is the GREATEST! lol
lol, either way, personally i'm happy to have the nix down in wellington now, and if the Kingz helped pave the way, then you've gotta appreciate them for that
I live on the shore - unfortunately.
How much do you think a shirt with all the Kingz autographs on it would sell for? (if anything lol)

I dont know what it would be worth. You'd be struggling to find someone who would sell one. We are all to loyal fans to part with our Kingz gear.
Do you still have the giant shirt.. Loved the interview on TV.. Number Plates and the detailing on the wifes car..

? #OnThisDay in 1999, professional football in New Zealand was born as Football Kingz FC laid the path for the rising of your Nix.
History was made as the first game was played in the North Harbour Stadium against Carlton FC in the original NSL.
20 years on and football is still going strong ?
COYN!
Where did that 20 go?
Loved going up to Auck for Kingz games. Some great nights (!) and players. W Rufer such class himself. Aaron Silva, Denis Ibrahim, Mark Burton....

I remember seeing the Kingz play a preseason friendly in Palmy at Memorial Park when I was a teenager, was great fun. First time I'd seen professional footballers play live! My hazy (teenager in Palmy *cough*) memories tell me it was their first season so before the official kick off but I can't find any reference to it online. Anyone know the game I'm talking about? I'm reasonably sure I haven't just made it up. I even remember specific details, like Vicelich coming off the bench to play upfront

Yep, but that wasn't the version that went to air - it was the audio feed from the rehearsal track :)
Can anyone give me the date and score of a Kingz pre-season friendly played at QEII in Chch in 2000 against Wollongong. It was a pre-season game and one of 4 games the Kingz played in Chch? I've looked on ultimatenzsoccer but they only seem to have the regular season matches.
The others were home regular season matches against Wollongong and Perth Glory at Jade Stadium / Lancaster Park. The other was a friendly under Mickey Peterson against a Federation 6 XI (old name for Mainland Football) which was played on the QEII No.2 pitch.

Saturday 16 September according to match programme. I'll try to find the score.
