Played this up in Rotorua a month back with a mate and it was soo good, turns out the ball rolls much further than expected when there is no player stopping it as happens in games.
The course was 18 hole footgolf set up on a 9 hole golf course, with each golf hole split up into 2 footgolf holes. It was a fully functional golf course still and we had a few guys come through and they thought the footgolf thing was hilarious, even felt the need to dish out their share of stick following one very poor kick. The footgolf holes were usually located just off to the side of the actual greens, so the impact on the golfers is pretty minimal.
We were having a chat to the owner afterwards over refreshments and commented how well it would go down in Welly for team bonding and general pundits. He told us there was a course being set up soon in the hutt somewhere, on one of the existing golf courses but couldnt remember the name off the top of his head. Would be very cool if it did happen, would love another go.
I'd love to get involved in getting something set up as there is a huge potential market here for it. Wonder what course it is. I'd suggest it was Hutt Park especially with Stop Out and the Indoor Sports out there now and can't see it being Shandon or Boulcott.
Holy crap!!! I found it!!!!!!
Not sure how well set up it all is but played at Hutt Park, Boulcott and Trentham.
