New Zealand Football recently included Futsal as part of the game, and our own Futsal Whites are on the road to qualifying for the World Cup, coming 3rd in Oceania Champs in August. The team includes 6 Wellingtonians and a schoolboy from Wellington High.
Played with a smaller heavier ball it stays on the ground more. For social players = more success and fun. For football players it is a great development tool, given the greater amount of touches on the ball, in a small space so the game is alot faster with decision making, ball speed, etc.
Our leagues are expanding rapidly and we have secured the Shed 1 venue for afterschool leagues. Opportunities to play:
Competitive Men: The F League
Including some Futsal Whites and a Japenese Semi Pro, also serves as a selection pool for upcoming tournaments.
