Whats happened to Gisborne this year?
Did the league kick them out?
Anybody got the story on them?
Their website hasn't been updated for ages.

Huge financial problems. My in-laws are from Gisborne and I've been told loads of stories about bills not being paid etc
Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Team Taranaki get another chance to prove/embarras themselves in Central League. Atleast everyone else know they won't finish bottom.
Its no longer a problem.

I would rather have a Team Taranaki who are trying to provide an honest opportunity for local young talent than the cash down buy success approach of a Gisborne City....

really depends what the central league is trying to achieve dosn't it?
don't see you saying youd rather say upper hutt or tawa who provide opportunity for the locals than western suburbs who cash down buy success????

You are wrong, yes I would, provided the talented players go to honest clubs so the quality of the league is high. We want a high quality league but in a honest and transparent way where good players join clubs for the right reasons and where loyalty and youth development are rewarded ahead of pot hunting.

Gisborne City........ live on in the Pacific League with a handy looking side coached by Pedro Garcia and a youth development side playing in the Eastern League. And correct, no more Whitely money means no more Fallon or imports. Its great to see the local boys geta shot again. Rest assured the Sky Blues will be back.........

Western Suburbs don't spend money on players they spend money on infrastructure, good coaching, good facilities and an opportunity for players to develop in the prime environment. That is why they are successful not because they spend stupid amounts of money on players. How does Western Suburbs not provide an opportunity for the locals??

By having a very limited number of mens teams.
A dog with a bone :)

By importing in players for money that play ahead of talented locals.
Give the mental hospital patients a chance! They're the real Wests locals! (JOKING, but 1st sentence deadly serious.)
Oh Wellington is wonderful. We got the wind, the rain and the phoenix. Oh Wellington is wonderful.

Which players in particular are you referring to?

Pedro Garcias has signed with Lower Hutt apparently. Dunno if that's old news or what but it looks like GC are falling appart a bit. Could be a good thing tho, it might give the locals a chance to run their own club for the first time in a long time.
Fuck this stupid game
