Quote from the article
"Under Federation rules set by national body New Zealand Football, clubs may take part in regional competitions only with the consent of their Federation"
They just need US1 permission. Not all is lost friend
We've travelled to Hamilton so I dont see why not
Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Next step:
As of Friday 21 December we do not have any certainty over whether a certain number, or indeed any, clubs might be granted sanction by United Soccer 1 to take part in the new competition.
United Soccer 1 have identified a process with a date for submissions by clubs in early February, but at this stage we do not have a definite date for conclusion of that process.
Auckland Football Federation will continue to work with United Soccer 1 so that the Auckland Football Federation can advise the make-up of leagues as soon as possible in the New Year.
Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Why would they. US1 wanted out in the first place why would they then allow three of their strongest clubs leave their so called better fed league there trying to start.
There wont be any US1 clubs next year !
12 team premier div of which the composition will be based on last years placings EXCEPT US1 are only going to allow 3 of there teams into the top division and their home games must be reffed by their own officials. Naturally as Birkenhead got relegated and Albany wanted out that leaves Dawkins City, ECB, Glenfield and North Shore with one of those teams likely to miss out. I would say it would be between Glenfield or North Shore (with the other teams being Melville, Wanderers, Tauranga, Central, Olympic, Suburbs, Lynn-Avon, Onehunga Sports, Metro, ECB, Waitak and 1 other
The next divisions down are AFF/Wai-BOP teams only. (most likely 3 kings, Papa2toes, MAP, Mangere, Ngaruawahia, Ellerslie, Papakura, Fencies, manurewa, Cambridge, Springs, Onehunga-mangere)
The problem lies is that if a US1 teams gets relegated from the top div, they slip back to their local league and teams from US1 can't get promoted up. Also if a US1 team does drop out of the top league, that skews the draws into bye rounds in the lower league which means that year, there will be no relegation from the bottom league back into Wai-BOP or AFF local.
US1 are having a 10 team premier division of their own with 13 applicants to join. Hmmm, you can see 3 of their teams coming back to the Northern Regional League...
