I think it's a dream worth pursuing, and who knows, Heraf might be the right man at the right time to make it happen. All we need is a rich Kiwi benefactor to put his hand in his pocket to fund it.

I think that even if we had enough money to do it well it would be better spent getting coaches trained and so on. Even giving NZF scholarships to kids to go to private academies, that sort of thing.

But it's a moot point because there is no money

trying to figure out how a national academy can even work.

Promising Kids should be in well coached academy setups by around 9 or 10.

FIFA outlaws kids moving for football reasons before age 16.

It doesn't sound like we are talking about regional centres, but a single national academy?
