Summer finally looks like its on it's way and you know what that means - the Island Bay United Summer League is nearly here.
We're now calling for entries for the upcoming season so please let us know if you would like to enter, along with the following details:
- Which winter club you are most closely aligned to
- Which grade you'd like to play in. A or B. A is suitable for anyone with at least 5 players from Cap 5 or above. If in doubt let me know and we can figure out your best spot
- Team name
- Team colour
- Main contact person with email and cell phone number
- Secondary contact person with email and cell phone number
- Your thoughts on whether we break or play on Sundays for specific holiday event weekends - Wellington Cup Day 23 January 2016, Wellington Sevens 30 January 2016.
Things you need to know about this season:
- The season begins Saturday October 31
- Fees have been REDUCED to $700 per team (was $850 last year). Final due date will be Friday 16 October to secure your spot in the league. No payment, no entry, no exceptions. Tell your players now to put the money aside!
- There will be no official referees. This is based on feedback as well as difficulty in getting referees. You WILL be required to offer up a player to referee a neutral game each week (either before or after your match). For this to work we need everyones buy-in so please help us out here (it's an extra 80 minutes in the sun - what's not to enjoy!).
- You should get more games this season, depending on entries.
- We are hoping to have the season complete before the Hilton Petone Pre-season tournament begins (expected to be 13 Feb) as we know this affects teams at the business end of the competition.
- Last game day of 2015 will be December 19.
- First game day of 2016 will be January 9.
- We will release the full draw by the start of the competition to help with your holiday planning.
