IBUAFC and 1st team Coach Martin Garcia, alongside the senior coaching team, would like to invite all existing and new footballers to pre-season training for the 1st – 4th teams.

Tuesday 21st January will see the lads head to the Rongotai College back fields for a 6-8pm training. Thursday 23rd January will be same time same place.

From the 1st week in February there will be three trainings – same time, same venue. Monday – Tuesday – Thursday for 3 weeks.

Trainings will be varied / integrated so that players can come back and not get burned out or injured, however we do recommend you get some exercising and runs in beforehand!
Blow those summer excesses aside!

We welcome prospective players from out of town or new to the city to join us especially new senior goalkeepers to come to preseason training also, those from out of town looking for a new club are welcome!

We have teams in Capital Premier, Capital One, Capital Two and Capital Four.

Players will need both running shoes and moulded boots at training.

Really, I'm guessing that will see a lot of players who went to Island Bay now leaving? Does anyone know?

Did the coach just leave the IBU or did he get the sack? Just interested.

James was employed via his association with Ole. So when the partnership between IBU and Ole ended his role as First Team Coach also ended.

We will lose players with the partnership ending but as with any change in coach players will come and go.

Unfortunately training on Tuesday was cancelled but we welcome anyone keen to play for an enjoyable, professionally run club with great facilities should come along on Thursday. 6pm Rongotai College southern fields.

What has happened between IBU and Ole?

Is there anything more you can tell us about the new coach? His coaching experience? Qualifications?

Is that the Martin who played for Lower Hutt and recently Island Bay (maybe Wairarapa for one season too?)?

Nothing happened. Things just changed for both parties so it was agreed it was best for both that our agreement come to an end. Obviously location played a big factor in making everything work.

Yes topleft, that's the Martin. Argentinean lad who has been part of the club for a number of years now.

Ohhh thats a shame, seemed like it was attracting good young talent to the club.

Oh that Martin, I played against him a couple of times. What are his coaching credentials? Qualifications? Has he coached other teams?
