Just saw this popping up in the news in Holland.

http://www.voetbalprimeur.nl/nieuws/667462/.html

More info about the club here... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Go_Ahead_Eagles

The club has a fierce rivalry with PEC Zwolle just +/- 44 km apart from Ryan Thomas ;).

He'll play in the Under 19 squad.

Good on him. What position is he?

Love Go Ahead Eagles. One of the best team names in the world along with The Strongest and Botswana Meat Commission.

I see that Go ahead were promoted back to the Eredivisie last month after winning their play-off against De Graafschap (5-2 on aggregate) in the promotion/relegation play-offs.

So, two Kiwis at Eredivisie clubs and one in the Eerstdivisie now.

Adam Sarota, ex-Brisbane Roar midfielder, signed for Go Ahead last season after five seasons at Utrecht in the Eredivisie.

How about Deportivo Wanka... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deportivo_Wanka

I have a Deportivo Wanka top, its green and white, so when I lived in Glasgow and wore it everyone thought I was a Celtic fan now I'm back in NZ people think I'm from Wanaka!

I have always liked the Finish team FC Santa Claus

This is now way off topic so really needs a name change or its own thread!
