West Bromwich Albion, in partnership with Premier Skills, are running Professional Opportunities courses in Hamilton and Auckland in January 2010.

The courses are run over 3 days and will provide top level coaching as well as the opportunity to be scouted by West Bromwich Albion. A member of the full time coaching staff from West Bromwich Albion will be coaching/scouting on the courses.

Through their partnership, Premier Skills have recommended a number of NZ players to West Bromwich Albion, the most notable being Chris Wood who made his Premiership debut in 2009.

To receive more information on the courses please email: profop2010@gmail.com

Premier Skills have given us four spots on their upcoming courses with WBA Academy Director Mark Harrison.

We're going to give those away to some Fever Kids.

You have to be 14-18 years old and a pretty good footballer (course not for numpties - remember this is where Chris Wood came from).

The dates are:

Hamilton January 20-22.
OR
Auckland January 25-27.

Attendance at the course (including kit and all the trimmings) will be free but you'll have to get yourself there and find somewhere to stay at your own cost.

So if you are a budding elite footballer, or you know one, then PM me a bit about yourself (or them) and I'll put you in the hat.  Make sure you include contact details and preferred course.  We have two spots on each.

Winners will be picked by me, Hard News and Feverish at lunch one day.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Well, don't think I'm quite in the elite category but it sounds like a cool course.

We've picked four names - all from outside Hamilton/Auckland because of the additional costs they face in attending.

Winners: Scott Tyson (Petone/Onslow College), Louis Fenton (Tawa/Tawa College), Izaac O'Hara (Unattached/Wellington High School) and Kieran Venema (Gisborne Thistle/Lytton High School).

Thanks to all those who put names forward.  Champion work.

Through the power of the Fever there will be something like 20 players (mostly from Wellington) attending either the Hamilton or Auckland courses.  Don't think they had any last time.

+1. Quality for Island Bay United U19's and Wellington Futsal. Colchester United are interested in him also. Great kid, will be very surprised if he is not at an English academy by next year.

Big call DKP.

Has been good up here. Coaching is good - Roger Wilkinson at his comedic best and Aaron Danks from West Brom is a good lad.

Facilities good at St Peters. Overall a very well run affair.

Quality of players is a bit of a mixed bag. With 50 here across three age brackets that's no surprise.

The course itself though has been tremendous and I'd recommend anyone who still has the chance to sign up for the Auckland one next week.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
