Keeper punches outfield player... twice!
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

I went to see Lower Hutt play Upper Hutt in the Womens Premier League earlier.
The big talking point of the match was that Lower Hutt's keeper stayed on after TWICE punching an Upper Hutt player, in two separate incidents.

After the first incident when no red card was produced the ref said "once more and you're off". Then after the second he produced , wait for it,  a yellow card.   There was then a period of "discussion"**. During which I suggested to the Lower Hutt coach he should sub his keeper for the "sake of the sake of the game". I now realise that this was trite pious nonsense...

Upper Hutt won 2-0.

Upper Hutt did have their star , STAR. left back ***** booked for her "peace making" in another incident. Other highlight was ****'s upflappable perfomance in goal for UHC.

Fair to say that the game was reasonably competitive.

** There was I an assessor at the match who spoke to the ref after the match. I don't think he was impressed.

Also, don't stand too near the Upper Hutt bench as comments that may be interpreted as neutral aren't ... ummm... favoured.   For the record I do think the Lower Hutt midfielder ***** is a good footballer.

reminds me of  Porirua Club in sunday league-

Actually the incindet might have been with Hard New's Trentham UTD a few years back.

anyway, a Trentham player laid out a Sunday Blazer with a pretty vicious body check. the referee said "one more of them and its a warning" to which the chap replied- "great i can do it two more times then!"

creative refereeing at its worst.

I was at the game as well. In my 14 years of watching womens football I have never seen such disgusting behaviour on the pitch. The goalie (who is a potty mouth with her foul language) should have gone the first time. All credit to Leo from Lower Hutt for speaking to UH after game about the situation. Maybe a club 1 game stand down is in order for the goalie to show that the club doesn't condone such behaviour.
Assistant referees ARE required on the sidelines to help the ref out on these occasions.

I believe that e-mails have been sent out by CF asking for AR's on Sunday's. No takers. Any at the Karori/Marist game?

It must be a lower hutt womans thing.

I have never witnessed such a bad bunch of "bitches" as the team in div 4, they spent most of a game trying to take out an oposition player.

I hope that Lower Hutt do not get to provide a ref because they spent the whole match condoning the behaviour, image the things that would go on if they provided the ref.

I was also at this game. And being a previous player of Lower Hutt it has always been very competitive and physical playing Upper Hutt. It is always a challenge playing them. But I have never been in the situation where there were punches being thrown around.

From what I saw it all seamed to get ouot of hand when the Upper hutt player who scored the first goal by pushing the lower hutt goalee into the goal when she was still holding the goal. The ref awarded the goal. And then to hear the same Upper Hutt player to go on to say ' I got to take out the Goalee' How professional is that??

Then a Lower Hutt player went to pass an Upper Hutt player with the ball and as she was just getting pass her the Upper Hutt player swung her legs around and took her out purposely. This should of been a red carded offence for Upper Hutt. The Lower Hutt player did retailate and they both got Yellow cards..

But I do believe the bad language needs to be left of the pitch. And players need to play there own game. don't give in to the taunts and ridicules. I also think that maybe it would be better getting a more ecxperienced Ref to Ref the Premier League games as it is very competitive. I seem to notice the Ref that was reffing the other game on the pitch would of been ideal.  I know the refs need experience but I think he was a little out of his depth this time.

I am not supporting either team for what they did and think they should both be stood down for a game until there behaviour is acceptable.

I think with most of the players in the Womens Prem grade being teenagers - coaches need  to be wary of petulant behaviour creeping in - as is sometimes the case with young players who are playing the top grade and think they are god's gift

Had this player spent the holidays at Shooting Stars with Greenie?

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

What is it with Lower Hutt women's teams??
A LH player was sent off in a Div 2 game yesterday for punching. Silly girl probably had a go at one of the only people that she shouldn't have as Flo is a police women and no ones fool.
Seems to be a LH thing- punching and getting caught. Some get sent off, some get a warning.
Good on the ref for taking action!!

Maybe it's a north of the CBD thing? This photo's from our game against Stokes Valley last Sunday. She couldn't work out why the ref kept pinging her. Studs anyone?
