With Cvetan Ivanov now head coach at Division 1 club Christchurch United, will CFA juniors head to the Rams?

So, Mainland are canning FTC for U16 boys and U15/16 Girls. Thoughts?

Can we get everybody from this thread into the Fever Zone at next weekend's Phoenix game? Would be magnificent chat in person!

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I had a look at Ticetek and can't for the life of me figure out how to buy Fever Zone or where that is in the stadium :(

I see tickets are $30 or $25

May need Vim Fuego to assist here...

It's like having to teach your mum how to use the video recorder.

When you click on the CHCH game on ticketek here:  http://premier.ticketek.co.nz/events/PHOENIXL16/ve...

Do you not just click here?

So what is the grand plan for the 15 and 16 year olds? How is Mainland planning to extract money from...sorry...continue their development?

And I see CTFC have announced their latest version of their club Academy.

Mrs Foal went to the ticketek shop in the end. I assume you can't by family tickets

The $65 of tickets cost $74

Hopefully we are  in the fever zone

Not sure what you're referring to here.

Well know fact Mainland 15-16 year old FTC programme has left a lot to be desired in the last few years. The national tournament successes should be taken with a grain of salt as most of the (boys) talent in Auckland/ Wellington are not in the FTC programme; and the Mainland girls teams have struggled mightily.

Tech starting up their academy again is just statement of fact; last time they gave it a go was when Mick curry was running it.

All the boys FTC starts on the 29th Feb.

Squads due to be announced by the end of Friday. Nervous times for all those in the trials.

Fun Wellington fact. This year junior's football subs (he's 16) were more than his annual golf membership.

Relieved he gave up FTC etc. Footy is bloody expensive!

NB: he plays school AND club. Footy club subs were $140, school ~$100. Golf $175 for the year.

Definitely-not-fukn-fun Sydney fact: Miss GG playing for NSW NPL club U17 team. Subs are A$1,500!

Subs at my club are $50 for the junior juniors (first kicks etc) and $122.50 for juniors.  I'm in the same boat where I have to pay a junior sub to my club and a sub to the school.

Still worth it in my opinion.

Idiocy of having national tournament in regional centre. Tournament costs reduced when they moved it from Napier to Welly. Why they decided Palmy North would be a good idea is beyond me.

Hopefully Scorching Fund or something can help. I am very sure it is too expensive for some families unfortunatly.

That's over the top with the costings. Are they staying in a 5 star hotel?

Send them to play in LA as you could do it for the same price at the moment. Airfares $899 from Well/Chch, I can get you $30 a day in a brand new camper sleeps 4-6 all sorted. Still have $40 to spend on Bud or Cors. Hang on they are kids oh well Pepsi.

Good for him.... although he shouldn't even be allowed on the pitch with those colour skins on ! :-)

Thanks for sharing this article. Very interesting!

There is an article on Stuff today about an age grade tournament at your new yaldhurst facility built by Slavs Meyn that looks good for the future of mainland football. Sorry. Couldn't copy the link :)
