What's the pick of the games tomorrow seeing as the most interesting one is on Sunday? What am I supposed to do tomorrow?

Did anyone else pick Nomads to come second? I know I did, Andy would have to be the best coach in the league surely?

Fantastic venue at Saxton Fields, love a good trip away. Being able to have a bank, seats, decent crowd and beers certainly makes a football event.

Game of two halves, was tough to watch in the first half, with Coastal being run over, they hit the crossbar and eventually scored. We did fight back in the second half but I guess it was a fair result??? Didn't do either club any favours and the season appears done.

Maybe we'll win the English Cup starting this Thursday.

Halswell fielded their reserves team as their main focus is promotion. Case dismissed.

Stu Kelly full of good decisions yet again.

Pay an excessive amount of money (funded by junior footballers at the club) to enter your reserve team in a cup knockout competition...

They do have a big top of table clash against Burwood this weekend. If the season was to be frozen after this weekend it could be a vital game

Parklands did a similar thing last week vs Uni not playing their strongest team, left a few club legends watching from the stands that would've made a difference :)

Poor form and a lack of respect for a time honoured competition. Don't enter it if you treat it like that.

Poor form and a lack of respect for the competition. If you can be bothered with it don't enter. Given it is the only cup competition going this year and the way the draw has worked out why wouldn't you have a crack.

Fixtures by 22 August - similar match-up from two rounds ago with 1st v 2nd, 3rd v 4th, 5th v 6th and 7th v 8th

Cashmere Technical vs. Nomads - Hurley Shield challenge - big game for both sides

Coastal vs. Nelson Suburbs (Midday kick-off)

ChCh United vs. Ferrymead Bays

Selwyn vs. Western - massive games for both sides, must win for Selwyn after Western came from 4 - 1 down to share the points with United today

Permalink Permalink

Another big round on Saturday, with a top of the table clash and a huge relegation match, so plenty to play for.

Cashmere Tech vs. Nomads - also a Hurley Shield Challenge

Selwyn vs. Western - Selwyn chasing their first win of the season to draw level on points with Western and a win for Western would open up a six point gap at the bottom.

Coastal Spirit vs. Nelson Suburbs - a battle for third spot. NOTE Game now being played at English Park - still at Midday

Christchurch United vs. Bays - Bays also vying for third place with United go to claim their first win in seven games

After Saturdays round all teams will have played every other team twice.

A few milestones can be achieved by several clubs in the coming rounds - more about those later as do not wish to put the kiss of death on them.

One milestone that I can mention is that Cashmere Technicial's keeper, Danny Knight will run out for his 200th game for the club on Saturday, believe Danny has 104 clean sheets.
