Are more grounds being opened back up? Halswell is scheduled to play Western at home this Saturday (according to club president about 2 hours ago) but last I heard it was closed. Sooner I can start limping around a field pretending I'm Lochead the better.

Interesting that there are 3 games on the same pitch on Sat. I know Nomads are sposed to be @ 11 with Coastal @ 2, not sure bout the rest.

Halswell no 4 ground is being used. That's the field generally given to the lowest ranked team playing at home

Oh didn't see that the Tech game said 17 April. That will make the fields less crowded. I thought Western were also allowed a deferral but it seems they are playing tomorrow.

The same rules do apply, there is a rule somewhere saying that if you have a certain amount of players involved in a rep team you are allowed to defer.

Duffy, this is just getting silly now. You're not involved in the competition so the rules don't apply to you anyway. Get over it, your team wasn't good enough last year, but this year it seems your in with another shot. Good luck to you but please leave the whinging until it affects you and your team. The fact that this season is getting under way on time is a small miracle in itself so who really cares if some must start a few weeks late or whatever.

Suburbs likely to call on even more youngsters with their three best players unavailable. Missing are Gagame Feni, Adam Smith and Matt Ayloff.

Poor officiating the ball never got within a goal post width of crossing the line. Ref didn't give it at first and ass ref didn't have a clue, Eh I think it must be a goal then.

Saw some at the game but not playing. Tech didn't play remember so there aren't many left.

A very good question! Atwell is at United I believe, and I think a couple at Western. Other than that tho....

A contrast because each paper writes about their own team? You have to remember no one in Nelson knows who plays for Coastal so it's of no interest to hear about how they played. Billy leaving is a big deal and then talks about the loss.

The Press focus more on the Canterbury side winning. That's the angle, a victory for the new boys.

What did you expect?

Billy Scott is a big loss for Nelson Suburbs. Can't believe the team we played pre-season in Wellington snatched him up after the game though! Congrats Coastal on the first up win - bring on Nomads this weekend!

 

Are u taking the piss? Not sure what ur problem is Ronaldo, unless i'm reading a different report. No mention of money and the game isn't discussed much, apart from the point that the coach thinks coastal were beatable, which is his opinion. Even the report on the mainland website says Nelson were unfortunate, a report that  i presume is done by a neutral? Regardless coastal won and i'm sure Nelson will bounce back.
