Thanks for clarifying that AW82, I only have access to the completed tables for each round from the Sporting Pulse website, which obviously has the deferred game results entered as though they were played at the right time. Ronaldoknow2011-06-13 21:30:05

That's OK.
Sorry, still grates on me.

This got me thinking the other day.....what would / could you do if you were a "wealthy" club and ambitious you obviously want to win so what can you do apart from pay or give perks to get the best players? A lot of people seem up in arms about bays having the $'s to pay for Kamo and the likes but if you can afford it why would you not do it? The can of worms has been opened!
Agreed AW82, why would you possibly want to put money into a defunct league, with no pay out in the end?

If the teams cant play/travel, lets hope there is a little more understanding from those provinces outside of chch than there has been in the past.

There won't be an issue with the Chatham Cup sides playing in and out of ChCh, but there might be a lack of grounds for all other grades though as liquefaction strikes again in the east. Welcome to life in Muntedville. What a nightmare, Quakes 4 ChCh 0 and no sign of full time yet.
It would be good to see an MPL team 'upset' a southern team, but the only way I see that happening is if United play their direct football and scrap out an ugly win.
The draw then goes national doesn't it?
Do any local caversham/Tech players get paid?
Will be good to play against some new faces on Saturday, don't think the sides have clashed since the mid 90's (could be wrong) but we aren't looking into their league position too much.

I assuming it's a no go
but massive game for one of my sides so still keen to train:)

I was expecting most to be canned but no.
Colin Grant (Mainland operations manager?) sent out the snapshot for this weekend and all systems are go...at this stage.
CCC is checking their grounds and Eastern clubs esp have been asked to check their grounds and advise mainland if the grounds are usable.

are you training tomorrow?
I might come down and fix the posts, they sunk 2 - 2 and a half feet
hopefully not twisted underground
surprised games are on
intermediate field western goalposts need lifting and refitting
Predict all mainland sides to get knocked out this weekend unfortunately. On a more important note, hope everyone is alright and no-one has put their back out shoveling liquidFARKtion. Stay safe and remember
Interesting article on Nelson Football possibly being entered into the national league. Have to say that would be brilliant for them, they have always produced good young local players and this will be a great stepping stone for them. On a selfish note this will be a blow for Canterbury and maybe even Wellington as players which would have flocked to them will opt to saty at home. Does anyone know if this would happen this year or would this be a few years in the making?
On another note, I see Mainland are advertising for yet another staff member, this time an Events and Marketing Officer. Have you seen how many people work in that office? Check out this page: https://www.mainlandfootball.co.nz/index.php?id=397

I had a quick look for this article, but couldn't find it. Where did you read this?
