I think a lot of accusations are being thrown around in regards to refs with very little backing.
Please tell me where you get your info that refs are being told to keep their cards in their pocket? Yes there are man management styles, that don't just require a card out straight away, but that's what it is - man management. Cards just get people angry if they are brought out with no explanations.
Also remember there are 44 eyes on the field of players, god knows how many people on the sideline. All refs need is one person in the way and what is obvious to you is blind to them. Hopefully they were being observed so the assessor can talk to them about it.
Finally if an official was abusing people on the side, then go through the appropriate measures, contact Mainland Football and The refs association. Despite what you may think, they won't close ranks. They want the refs to get better, and will talk to them.
The way new refs are going there won't be any left soon.... Women's Div 1 game this morning, a refs assessor turns up, would of been good for the ref to turn up too!!!
