I am busy at Centennial Park Saturday morning but wish I were able to be at English Park to honour this true LEGEND of Canterbury and New Zealand. Never played alongside Steve but had the honour to play against him. From the moment he stepped onto Eric Adams as a 17 year old in the 1973 pre-season tournament you could see he was a young Colossus in the making. He redefined the word competitive for me and it is fitting he should be permanently recognised this way. Well done Mainland. Keep fighting Steve.
