Did you? Excellent.

Fantastic day out apart from the poor first half from our WPL.

Having supported this team in all its forms over the years this was our first ever win over Tech. Having sat through every skiting after-match speech at the WMC it was great to hear one of our own. A long long way to do however this was definitely a first.

I think the catalyst for Cashmere's resurgence was in part due to an 8-2? loss in an English Cup game a few years back where you had a convivial discussion with a staunch key Cashmere supporter at the end of the game Vim. Been a long time between drinks so to speak, the key being to keep progressing. Since then they've definitely lifted their game and it's right to say they have pretty much everything spot on at the moment in terms of structure, staff, facilities etc. Fair dues to their management team. Also JB he's always been a fair minded opponent and good for the banter. Good also to see other clubs like FC, Bays, Nelson etc trying to up the ante. There is still a gap between the ability of 5 or 6 clubs and the bottom 2 or 3 in the MPL which opens the door for aspirational clubs like United, Selwyn and Waimak. Once they get the formula right we will have cracking games like yesterdays every round for every team and won't that be awesome?
