I understand the original request was declined as some gear wasn't returned. Perhaps they found out they couldn't enforce the return of gear unless he was actually registered with FC as opposed to Burnside? All sounds a bit daft just for Knocker to play his normal 45 mins a season with Coastal over 45's

Is that all I was hoping the he was going to run out for FC Twenty's PFL side, probably still do a job to shore up the leaky defence.

Crikey - they'll have to pull some games again wouldn't they?  There just wont be enough pitches around town to accomodate.

That looks to be the case.... just a matter of which games get to go ahead..... Will they pull the Juniors and then try play Senior games? Will they pull the lower division games in Seniors too? Questions, questions, questions.....

Late Football Changes - Lots of games of.  My Div 3 game off.. go watch Div 1 I guess.

Maybe someone at Mainland should look at the Council site then.... "but when we only find out in the afternoon on Friday, and then through a club source, it creates a real mess" ....... erm I reported at the end of the morning that council had put only 1 game for many of the pitches... and I was also busy doing my actual job, rather than a job which is part of the description at Mainland!!!!

Now my boys team have another week off as they just went through and cancelled games!

Surely it's a typo.

It's called a triple dip. Similar to a hat trick but you need bigger balls. Lotto started it first, they may sue for copyright violation.

Wow you're partying hard Ron, you watch yourself. First beer in years last weekend, and home after midnite this wknd!

In looking at the re-draw this wknd, I like how 2 school games are transferred to my club fields. So my club teams can't play but school teams from other side of city can? Aboo.

Uni 2-0 over FC.. 2 contenders for goal of the year, first an absolute cracker from a volley 30 yards out.. 10 clean sheets from 11 is not to bad either.. Be good to see when this appeal with NZF comes back, they must be taking all the evidence into consideration considering it's been in their hot little hands for 2 weeks +.  Bit harsh on Waimak with their fine, hard enough that they have had to travel and fork out cash as much as they have of late..

It's pretty funny also that the press say that Waimak and Uni are bitter rivals and played a hand in the decision, all Uni did from my understanding is produce video footage from the game when requested and nothing more

Waimak were lucky it was only 4k considering they were found guilty of misleading the judiciary, pretty rank imo. As for the cost of travel, no sympathy there either, same for all clubs.

That's a huge statement IAJ. Basically you are saying the officials, the judiciary and the board of Mainland Football are in collusion, hiding/distorting the facts and Waimak are totally innocent? Find that hard to believe, if that is the case surely Waimak will appeal to NZF and when succesfull we will see a wholesale resignation of the Board and senior staff at Mainland as they have obviously mislead the footballing community. And everyone who considered Waimak to be a poorly behaved, poorly led shambles of a club (based on the outcomes of that shameful day v Varsity) will apologise profusely.

I can't comment on whether this particular player was involved or not as I have no idea who he is.. I do know from being there watching that there were a number of players and spectators involved in this incident, whether it be physical or verbal altercations towards the referee's. The more I think about it, the behaviour from the players ( obvious instructions to kick s*** out of the opposition ), the coach's behaviour using pysical threats of violence against Uni players and the behaviour of supporters the fine seems fair enough, possibly lucky there wasn't more points deducted or disqualification from the competition if you look at codes of cinduct which Mainland seem to be standing by. Just hope that this is not the case again this weekend when the two meet and we can get on with playing a game of football in the right spirit it deserves!

Ha ha ha tim tam better go watch video of game again you guys were nowhere near as squeaky clean as you make out. You are correct there was a incident and it should not have happened and unfortunately for us we were at fault for part of it and have never denied it we also handed over the correct person for punishment rather than the person who had been wrongly accused by officials. There are lots more things to come out and a lot of people that have made comments may regret them the good thing for me is I know all the facts so can in good conscience make comment whilst the rest of you can speculate away as you love to do or continue with your ill informed comments I really don't care anymore. I so want to tell our side but not much point  As for the uni game won't be this weekend with us playing cup game, I'm looking forward to it always a good battle but don't know about bitter rivals ha ha

MPL coming up on Saturday:

FC Twenty vs. Coastal Spirit - will this be the first win for either club since changing coaches ?

Halswell vs. Ferrymead Bays - can Bays bring to a end their recent win - loss - win - loss record which has been the pattern for the last seven round - for the pattern to continue the Hawks would have to record a win

Nomads vs. Nelson Suburbs - sureley Suburbs to win and return to the top of the table

Those that were there can make their ill informed comments i guess, that's the beauty of freedom of speech. As far as Uni not being squaky clean on the day, that's a big call. Sure there were a few misjudged tackles, however when your copping abuse and foul play left right and centre it's hard not to shy away from it. Considering, I think you will find if you spoke to any neutral at the game you will find the players from Uni conducted themselves pretty well under the circumstances. You didnt disagree with the fact that the coach was a disgrace in the game, it appears the club has a large talent pool and junior development bases in place, however you will never move a club forward when young kids can't watch their senior team play due to poor behaviour from a club role model. Pretty disappointing for the kids at the end of the day.

I do hope that we can hear the full facts and end the innuendo, we all know with what happened with Uni losing the points that Mainland do as they please when it suits, maybe it's the case here again. I'm sure 4k would go a long way to securing some good quality programmes to help with the talent coming through the junior ranks out that way, so best of luck with the appeal. Are you appealing to NZ Football

I would defend the coach he has a huge passion for the game and has done amazing things for the club and our team and this whole on going saga has not being about him he took his 2 games and moved on. I have certainly heard worse from coaches in my playing career and no one has ever said a thing. As for mainland I agree they do have interesting ways of doing things.

Heard from a Waimak player that the coach was going to stand down after their game against Nelson College, is this the case?

Was it not you who said they were sat in the changing room alongside the person that 'wasn't' involved in the incident, yet has now been found to have been involved?
If you were indeed in the changing room surely you didn't see everything that happened.....

N.B. If it was someone else that said they were in the changing rooms I apologise, I remember reading someone write that, but haven't had the chance to go through posts to work out who it was.

You're kidding? And throw the team in against the current strongest side in the MPL this Saturday in the Chatham Cup? Bizarre, maybe he has been pinged by the club for the situation they find him in with Mainland and the $4k fine.

IAJ may harp on about how he knows exactly what went on but not interested in clearing up the speculation, he would prefer we carry on the ill informed commentary? Even bizzarer. Remember the fine was for trying to decieve the judiciary, not the poor behaviour that led to the loss of points and suspension of players and coach.

Oh I'm very intersted about clearing up the speculation but unfortunately at this stage I can't I'm so sick of this whole thing. The whole process from start to finish has been a mess to be honest I just want to get back out on field and play. The fine was for trying to deceive your correct but the kicker is we never tried to deceive we cooperated and gave them the correct person that's all we did.
