Wow! Can confirm it wasn't me involved.

I'd expect a lengthy ban coming up.

it's all happening this year!

Maybe everyone will blame it on the stress of the quakes over the last few years?

More likely the standard of officiating but that is no excuse. Trevis is is a good young referee making his way in the game. Expect a ban and a big fine for Western to make the point that clubs are responsible for their supporters as well as players under the code of conduct. Regardless of what happens on the pitch officials should never be harassed like that.

During the game is fine within reason i.e. humourus, soon as the whistle blows 90 that's it, you can grizzle all you like to ya missus but don't smack the ref dumbass :)

We need more people getting involved in reffing; but with this sort of behaviour becoming ...dare i say it...commonplace, why would you?

On the connection with post EQ stress etc..who knows, but it can't be helping can it?

I'd like to relate one post game incident I witnessed on the weekend. The game had finished and one player (from a country where football is the #1 sport) said, "Why were the other team so serious? They forget it is a game. You know, a game - games are supposed to be fun". Hmm.

abuse of refs

starts at the top and also how we conduct ourselves when coaching juniors. My gripe with Mainland Football over respect the refs is the #1 coaching appointment is with a guy whose behavior has (historically at least) been awful. So IMO there could be leadership by example.

Waimak will be quite happy with that. A respectable 8-0 loss will save them further financial grief. Bet everyone is on their best behaviour.

P North Marist play in the Central Federation PL and currently on top of the table 9 wins 1 loss record - goals  25 F and 7 A.

The Central Fed league is a grade below the Central Premier League which has the likes of Welly Olympic, Miramar, Western Suburbs, Napier City Rovers etc.

Oh and thanks for the update, overly passionate team out passioned? Western would have been missing a couple of players obviously.

A lot been happening on the local fiotballing front while i've been away.

First Team's Next Match:

 Nomads United verse

Nelson Suburbs

2.45pm at Tulett park

 Saturday , 6th July 2013

Extract from Nomads web site above guess they need to update quicker.

As seems to be the norm these days read it on here first everytime.

But saying that they do have the site updated this season on a weekly time frame which is a vast improvement on previous years.

Plenty of photos of all age grades as well.

What has happened with the Uni appeal on the 3 points deducted when player not on team card in round 2 of the season?

I hear the original appeal contained some 60 odd pages, maybe Mainland Football staff still getting reading lessons.

I wonder if it's the same lino as the one that went a little crazy at the game I was at last week. And someone on here mentioned it was the same lino in another incident too.

I have heard there is a report being sent in regarding the disgusting behaviour of a couple of the Mid Canterbury players.

Spitting in some ones face is totally unacceptable.

By all accounts the Waimak Players and coach did nothing but shake hands take the defeat and walk away.

BTW I was there.

There was no deception. Guilty with no trial.....yet. The video that was supplied backed our version of events and totally discredited the ref and ar1s who were adamant in there statements. Yet we get charged hmmmmmm

That's a huge statement IAJ. Basically you are saying the officials, the judiciary and the board of Mainland Football are in collusion, hiding/distorting the facts and Waimak are totally innocent? Find that hard to believe, if that is the case surely Waimak will appeal to NZF and when succesfull we will see a wholesale resignation of the Board and senior staff at Mainland as they have obviously mislead the footballing community. And everyone who considered Waimak to be a poorly behaved, poorly led shambles of a club (based on the outcomes of that shameful day v Varsity) will apologise profusely.

If the shoe fits.........
As for the coach stepping down, or as someone who just wants to make it a little more dramatic put it 'abandoning a sinking ship', it takes a bigger man to walk away when they know that their presence is going to continue to invite further attempts to discredit Waimak and their senior team. And I would suggest this coach has had enough of being involved in the ongoing shambles that is Mainland's governence, or officials that seem to think they are untouchable based on their role.
And the coach has not been pinged by the club, he made his own decision to step down. A decision that would have been difficult to make, especially considering the (false) speculation that would no doubt be put out there as a result.

If the shoe fits? How bout the other shoe that consistently has Waimak in the wrong with embarrassing behaviour and negative press.

Might be a good time to change footwear.
