If Graham McMann is as bad as people are saying, then it begs the question: Why have most of the Selwyn girls followed him to FC?

although it looks like most of the selwyn girls have gone to FC . Only 4 regular starters from their far superior (in my opinion) 2014 PDLwinning team have gone to FC . The rest have either tried to stay with Selwyn Prems , given up, or gone to one of the top three clubs.

So only four have followed the coach. That is not a big number compared with other coaches that have left clubs. We had one take 11 last season and another take 8 this season. My sympathies are with the players they oust from the club they join and the ones they leave behind. Pots and kettles from some club supporters me thinks!

Who left with 11 players ? I don't remember this.

some of them might have followed their team members not Mcmann, the four in pdl have played together since 10 grade. So might not be about the coach. Remembering that these girls had many wins until Mcmann took over

Can anyone explain the revised draw? Was it supposed to start this early? Like Tuesday?

And what's with this bit of the draw?

First scheduled game was suppose to be Parklands vs FC2011 next Friday but I think a couple of games have been brought forward due to the ACFC U17 next weekend

Yes Vim was meant to start this early with opening round for both Women's and Men's PL this week. As reddevil saying Round 1 games moved around due to four clubs away the ACFC U17.

Round 1 games are:

FC Twenty11 vs. Parklands Friday (18 March) 7pm Avonhead Park

Waimak vs. Cashmere Technical Wednesday (23 March) 7pm Kendall Park

Coastal Spirit vs. Universities (29 March) 7pm ASB Footy Park

also on Sunday (20 March) 12:30 Midday FC Twenty11 vs. Tasman Avonhead Park which is a Round 3 game.

Note have amended original posting to show correct date for Coastal vs Universities game.

First game for the Women's on Tuesday evening (15 March) - Coastal Spirit vs. Universities CFA 7pm.

other games in Round 1 are:

FC Twenty11 vs. Parklands Friday (18 March) 7pm Avonhead Park

Waimak vs. Cashmere Technical Wednesday (23 March) 7pm Kendall Park

Wait, what?  Looks like the draw has changed again with next Tuesday's game with Coastal not being on there? I'm confused.

On another note, I hope we don't start using CFA as our first choice of fields for night games.  Despite it being on the complete other side of town for me, English Park is the best place for football with a grandstand and bank and it being pretty much in the middle.

Looks like you will be OK Vim as just the two games at CFA on the draw I have got, the other game in round 2 - Universities vs FC Twenty on 26 March.

Looks like the draw I received on Wednesday may as been change again as on the Mainland website showing Coastal vs, Universities being played Tuesday 29 March as English Park or ASB. Vim with your contacts are you able to confirm the correct date please.

Righto, we'll give this a go.  Here is the link:  Mainland Tipping Comp

Anyone with the link can play, although let's just keep it to our lot on the forum as it will take a bit of data entry every week and I can't be bothered with every Tom, Dick and Harry Redknapp.  By joining you agree to do it every week!

How about we go a tenner each, plus a can of your favourite beer for the winner. You hold onto both and hand over at the end of the season. Doesn't worry me if we don't do it for money just might make it a little more interesting.

Lemme know.

Yes we had a number back at trials, not certain of registrations. They come and go, only concerned for themselves.

It, of course, affects other players opportunities and disrupts their families and clubs especially when they move on mass.

It is generally a lose - lose for both clubs existing members, forces them to look for new options.

Not unusual and certainly not exclusive to the situation highlighted here involving FC2011 girls.

Historically it has always been prevalent with the senior women as Ray has pointed out and is not unusual at junior level.

My point was look to your own clubs first. There is history across the game and a number of clubs.

Maybe this is around Holly heading the to the ACFC U17 tourney with Cashmere Tech, with rules for the tourney allowing guest  players.

It's been a while since I've read the ACFC U17 tournament rules, but if you're a guest player, surely you don't have to register for the club entering the tournament - because your status is "guest"; so why transfer to cashmere and then transfer back to Uni? If you know otherwise AW, please enlighten us.

You don't do transfers for guest players

You don't do transfers for guest players at dates outside the actual tournament their guesting in either

Otherwise, as you were.

it was a mistake by one person as they thought they needed to  register her to play for Tech at AFC 17 so after fault was realised she was transferred back as she was always going to be guess player , either that or we got the wrong colour of car for her?
