Who plays in the lower levels of Masters Football and might be after a recruit for next season?

  • My body is busted from 30 years of non-stop football
  • My beergut is substantial from 20 years of amber liquid
  • My delusions of still being talented are in good shape

There is an over 40s division in Masters 5 so checking that.

Question was where in Welly, as in which clubs suit.  Just if you live in Porirua then Seatoun probably not your ideal choice.

Actually doesn't bother me, just a good bunch of guys would be ideal. Played football for Petone, North Welly and Marist over the years despite living in Naenae and play cricket for Onslow so travel doesn't faze me too much.

Our masters (Naenae) were in 5 this year so over 40s but finished 1st or 2nd so could get promoted if they want.  They are a very social team.

I'll try and remember to post you details on pre-season if you want to come down as they generally have a run with the Nighthawks.  Far from serious.

Talking about yourself is it? Must be what happens when kids come along.

All the same for these maybe unfit lean on the post goal keepers. Which reminds me we are looking for a very willing oldish [over 45] goal keeper for next season. Keeper from this year would like to play outfield.

Sociable team that still like to get to have a weekly kick around [so we can get to the pub] on a evening as well as play Saturday.

Christchurch based club.

Does that team at Naenae have Vinny Headifen in it?

I'm still after a Masters team, prefer lower levels 2, 3 or 4 and can play semi-regular.

Can play any position (not great at CB) but anywhere else is fine including GK.

Not fussed who for as long as the team is somewhere between Upper Hutt and Island Bay

Try Petone (Mighty Masters or Leftoverstew).....training starts a couple of weeks before Easter.

So apparently I'm playing Masters 4 for North Welly.

Should be interesting.
