NAFC Sunday Morning Games

Newtown Athletic is a social kick-around thingy that's been going on for about 10 years now. Every Sunday morning at 9.30am anyone can show up and have a moderately organised game on the soft, relatively flat surface at Rugby League Park.

With a large portion of the side having formed a masters team, attendances during the winter season have dwindled and we're getting turnouts of 4 people. So, if you're not too pussy to play twice a weekend or too lazy to have joined the Capital Football fiasco, rock on down and let's get the numbers back up. I'm away this weekend but some people have guaranteed to show every week.

It's a really fun and social group, plenty of imports show up as well, Peru, France, Germany and Iran have all been well represented recently. Numbers fluctuate from 4 to 40, but now's the time of year when a boost is needed.

So, 9.30 am EVERY sunday morning, Rugby League Park. Usually someone brings a ball, road cones provide fiine goals and agro tends to be minimal so shinpads not really that necessary.

oska you're way too young to realise sunday mornings is well - a sunday morning. Being that 95% of this forum are of the alcohol consuming variety, you shouldn't expect too much at 9:30am!

I've rocked up after several tough all nighters, it's... rejuvenating.
