I believe one team in Wellington is relying on the Ivan England tournament to get around the "guest player" rule and bring in a bunch of players who have been registered/playing for other clubs all winter.

I believe they are not able to do that. Anyone want to shed any light?

My understanding is that to NOT be a guest you have to:

a) be registered for the club you're playing for AND b) play 2 games for them (Ivan England games count here)...

to qualify as a club player you must have played 1 game for that club BEFORE 1st of September.

If people are keen i can post up the Napier rules via dropbox?

Yes please...

see if that works.

Interesting.

To qualify to play you must be registered for your club and you must have played 1 game for that club BEFORE 1st of September.

Only the first round of the Ivan England counted then. The first round was on the weekend of 25 August.

I bet there are some teams that didn't realise that...including mine.

Huh... Something to look into with us too.
