National Futsal Tournament - Wellington into K/O

Hey everyone,

The finals for the NZF National Futsal Tournament are on tomorrow at the Old Winter Show Buildings, 11 Hutchinson Road in Newtown.
Wellington have done well with two teams in the competitive semi finals tomorrow (Sunday) playing Auckland and two in the social grade.  So if you have some time on your hands tomorrow come along and support our Wellington teams.

Games start at 9am and the prize giving is scheduled for 1pm.

Who ended up winning it?

Auckland - East City. 1-0 final. Wellington's 1st team came 2nd, and Wellington's 2nd team came 3rd.

Hat's off to Wellington High School for winning the social grade in a penalty shoot out after Forza scored a buzzer beater to just get the draw.

East City Futsal from Auckland beat Capital City Futsal 1-0 in the Final. Capital City very unlucky not to equalise and take the game to penalties. East City definately deserved to win the tournament though. A fantastic weekend and a huge step forward for futsal in New Zealand.

Auckland were a well organised team, could tell a few of them were NZ players. We played them in our last game on the Saturday. Was a good tough game. Pity we had to pull out for the sunday with loss of players.
