The winner was Dean Waddington, who apparently is a youth coach from the Upper Hutt club.

Well done Dean.  Enjoy the crayfish and champers.

Thanks to everyone who bought tickets, and especially to those who have actually paid me for them!

Dean Waddington? obviously a made up name. Bet I won

Incidentally and ignoring the banter here...  a big-ups to the Fever as well as  NZ and Welly football community.  With the raffle and some generous small sponsors A chunk of costs for these lads have been covered.

Makes me proud of everyone that in a few days we can make stuff like this happen.

Huge thanks to the Fever (see new banner) for covering my costs in attending.

Goes to show, as News says, what can be done when you try a bit.

5 days away, meals, accommodation, travel to Auckland, gear, etc etc will now only costs these kids about $150.  Half what it might have ten days ago.

Thanks everyone.

Awesome weather up here - get along if you can - North Harbour Stadium, games at midday and 2.30 tomorrow.  Pitch 4 and the Turf.

Smithy.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Well nightz in the true spirit of Fever we've gotten absolutely pumped today.

A Chris Turner-coached Waitakere beat us comfortably 4-0 early in the day and Danny Halligan's Nomads side spanked us 6-1 this afternoon.  We really are more than a few yards off the pace and it's showing.

Tomorrow morning we play Central United, who beat Nomads 3-1 and lost to Waitakere 2-0 in their games today.

Waitakere looking pretty good for a trip to Australia at this stage.

Huge ups to New Zealand Football who have put on a very well run show.  Cathleen has been running around like a crazy woman but they have put on hydration, physiotherapy, ice and all sorts for the teams taking part.  Really well done them.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

And the NZ U17s beat a local senior club outfit 2-0 in a very tidy hit out following our games today.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

For anyone who's interested, the Aussie finals will be 17-19 April in Melbourne and the clubs participating are:

Queensland: Souths United
NSW: Marconi Stallions
South Australia: West Adelaide (go on the Adelaide Bubbles)
ACT: tbc
WA: tbc
Victoria: tbc - they run their comp over 6 weeks as an FA Cup style tournament rather than a weekend kick-fest.
Tasmania: tbc - not sure if they enter.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
