So in light of what we know so far anyone keen to give predictions on promotions/relagations for 2013 this far out?

I had a crack in Jan (see below) I am pretty happy at this stage with my picks

Predictions for promotion/relegation for each of the leagues?

Div 2

Tauranga and Springs to go up

Matamata and Manukau to battle it out for last

Div 1

Melville and Suburbs to bounce straight back up

Metro and Map to go down

Premier League

Hard to pick a winner - Maybe East Coast Bays? - big gap in ability between the top 5 and the bottom 5 (see below)

Two of Manurewa, Onehunga Sports, Wanderers, Three Kings and Ellerslie to go down

Rewa and Ellerslie to go straight back down again.

Ha ha ha ha nice banter.

I heard a story (and it was only once) that most of the Bay Olympic boys have gone to Glenfield and left Knowles behind. Anyone else heard that? Glenfield splashing the cash again?

confirmed that G-field are splashing the cash (again!), Danny has got some of the Bay guys, including i hear Wylie, Gardyne and one other.

Not sure where that leaves Bays - they must have some depth so would assume they will be competitive still.

Why is everyone so sure that MAP will go down?

In tangentially related news, my new club (Bohemian Celtic)'s men's team are trying to get into the Saturday competition. At the moment AFF is only interested in letting them have UniMount's slot in the AFF/NFF Conference, since the Korean team who used to have it have pulled out. AFF seem desperate to keep the UniMount "brand" operating even though UniMount don't really operate as a club any more, just a venue + a "flag of convenience".

i think you will find Uni-Mt are still alive and kicking - they had 32 senior teams according to AFF in 2012.

However they are not interested it seems in returning to the NRFL.

But they've got no pyramid, no youth teams. It's just a "flag of convenience" for whatever ethnic teams want to play on Saturday.

there is plenty of clubs who don't fit the standard mould for a club..  yes they more than some others have ethnic teams but that's more because teams moved there on mass to play on the good surface.

Plus with two strong junior clubs nearby maybe they are happy with the senior only presence?

Watched north shore last night v Birkenhead..... Good crowd .. Bad pitch...

Birkenhead were 4 up at one stage think it ended 6.2...

North shore will do well in div 1. Good up front....need to be better at the back..

Birkenhead had a spell of 20 mins when they were very good, apparently quite a few to come in....

Best player was young nebblett from nz u 17s...

Western springs v glenf tonite .. Beintresting

Is that at the Springs, the new Wembley of the West? Or at McFetridge, the old Ewood Pk of the north?

Well, the argument within BCFC is that we shouldn't be playing under the UniMount banner because that's just "propping up" UniMount as an AFF favourite, when - so the argument goes - they should get out of the way so, for example, BCFC could enter the AFF Saturday competition in its own right.

And whats stopping BCFC from entering on their own accord. Nothing as far as I can tell....

But where would you play - isn't that the benefit of being under the Uni-Mt Banner?

that's Danny Donegan's style to a tee - same at Taka last year but had pearce so they were dangerous.

Coast and Shore both have the same issue, good going forward but can be shaky on defence and really need to sign a Div1 capable keeper each.

Will struggle against the more physical teams the likes of Glenfield.

Bit of a shame that. Pretty good bunch of guys, would rather play them then the likes of Mangere.

Anyone got any idea what happens now - another team promoted this season or no relegation this year maybe... ?
