after a season playing wellington i have come to the conclusion that olympic are the dirtiest team i have played in  my life. They play nice football ill give em that but is there any need for the sly punches and kicks of the ball .....

I hope you're not suggesting all their teams/players are like that. Many teams have 1 or 2 nutters in them but you dont sl*g off the whole club.

Which grade are you referring to?

I'd kinda have to agree with Nightz.....having played an Olympic team twice this season, I only remember 1 incident by 1 player which I thought was not called for. And I have seen at least as many from other teams, including even my own at times.

I think Olympic seem to have a unfair reputation that makes everyone look at them and judge them harshly on anything they may or may not see.

hmmm ok, I played the Div 1 team.... I know they got a lot of yellow cards this year (7 in one game against uni I think) but as I said, apart from the 1 incident our 2 games were as placid as footy ever gets.

Haha even coming from an Olympic side i believe there are many players that are dirty but overall no way are we a dirty club. Every club has some individuals that are dirty players which can make the club look bad. But i agree we got a bad reputation which sucks because every referee looks closely at every tackle we do. But overall not too dirty just not soft!! Spartans haha.

and what club might you be with bushcrab?

come on pavlos we all know the greeks are a filthy club!! hahahaha ok so Barry may not be greek but does that count?!!

i think thats a pretty bad call on bushcrabs part, i think judging a "club" on 2 teams is a bit ruff.....kinda like saying Lower Hutt are a "long ball" club....

we beat Olympics twice this season in my leauge. they were all right (Div. 9) although in the second game they couldnt stop bitching about the Ref (who was being fair) and one of them really wanted to pick up a fight. But we left it at that and went home happy after our 3-0 victory.

Big statement there my boy, if you have the facts bring them on, if not  just crawl back to your little hole and start breathing through your nostrils as your mouth obviously seems to be full of crap...

hey bushcrab, you were saying that from YOUR experiences olympic are a dirty club, but here you are talking about watching a marist game and blah blah blah. end of the day olympic is a passionate club with alot of pressure from supporters and the old boys who just rip when results dont go our way... im sure we would be up there in terms of yellows and reds this year but end of the day who gives a sh*t... there are far worse teams than us who are all about the hits, as steve said thats part of the game.... tolli butty!!

two examples and you tarnish the whole club bushcrab??? Apparently BNU and Seatoun had some sort of cornerflag throwing set to earlier this year. Doesn't mean their whole club are dirty players..

Sweeping generalisations, or what!! As other have said a couple of incidents, which you say you witnessed, doesn't mean that every player of every team at that club should be unfairly criticised. From my refereeing days in Wellington (which weren't that long ago) I know that there a good number of clubs, and players, who could get a bit 'tasty' from time to time. I never found Olympic to be a particularly dirty club and usually enjoyed refereeing them. They were certainly no worse than most other clubs, and an awful lot better than some! Things happen in games every week which ALL clubs probably wouldn't be that proud of but, as Uncle Steve says, that's Football. Get over it, you're lucky you're not playing in Scotland!!!!

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Not at all, Carney . Not sure I should remind you of when I sent you, might get a spray in return on how much of a shocker I had that day (Not one of my better games, I must admit) but here goes.
I sent you off in the last minute when you were playing for Marist at Petone, first Premier league game of the season about 3 or 4 years ago. Petone scored off a controversial linesman's call with a minute to go to get a draw and you told him, fairly forcefully, that you disagreed with him! Then after I waved the red card at you, you let me have it as well. Up till then you were very well behaved!

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.
