Players and OVERINFLATED opinions...
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Been gathering gossip today...

Players from a team now in the lofty heights of capital three presented a letter with their team's demands at the club's AGM last week. Met with some disbelief. When it was pointed out that some of their team don't even manage to pay their subs the presenter indignantly replied "we do". At this point he was given the names of players who simply, for that's what it amounts to, refused to pay subs.

Central League player has it in his contract that he has to help with junior coaching. He turned up for a session with some 12 year olds. He then took himself to one side an started texting. At this point the kids approached a teacher and asked if he would tell the player to go home as he was wasting their time.

I hope both were told to pull their heads in. Neither would last much longer if it happened at my club.

I'll give you a clue. A CL club with a team in Capital 3?  There are/were 4 last year- WU, Olympic, LH, Stop Out. Petone maybe but they weren't CL last year. Its not WU for the following reasons: Had a beer with our Cap 3 guy last week and no mention of trouble. Have a record of all of them paying full subs. We don't contract our CL players. Finally we haven't had our AGM yet.

At a Central league Club I have had a bit to do with, we used to have the junior teams adopt a player. Over the years it produced many junior coaches who continued on after their playing career finished. Also encouraged kids to come to the 1st teams games to see their (hero).

I know time is tight now, but it isnt that much of a hassle to turn up to a kids game a few times a season, or take the odd coaching session.  How are these guys going to cope as parents. Get the other parents to act as baby sitters every Saturday morning?

Dairyflat has been supporting Stop Out all season so one would assume that it is this particular club he is referring to.

all season? ALL SEASON??  Since 1970!

I am NOT saying which club or who. It is NOT Stop Out though.

We already said it couldnt be LH, Petone, WU, and now Stop Out so that only leaves one club.

Quick non football story. Two weeks back at Piha, during a photo shoot, Karen Walker's husband didn't want the lunch that everyone else was having. He sent one of the crew back into AKL to get some sushi from his favourite place.(That's a one hour drive each way.) Crew member comes back at 2pm, with sushi,  whereupon he, KW's hubby, throws fit about being kept waiting for his lunch....

Sounds like this is two different stories from two different clubs.

So a club that got a team promoted from capital 4 to capital 3.  Tawa perhaps?  Not sure when there AGM was.

Which Central League player despite assuring his coach,  only a week ago, that he would lay off the drinking was seen staggering drunk on the concourse after the Adelaide match last Friday?

Why would a Central League player lay off the booze in December?  To prepare for the Hilton-Petone?

The guy has huge talent that he's not using. The coach simply made the point that maybe he was a bit "alcohol reliant". To which player said, paraphrasing now, "piffle. I only enjoy the odd glass and can leave it whenever I choose. Just watch me...".  You get the drift...?

SAD.

Not Stop Out, because we haven't had our AGM (unless they didn't tell me)

However just to widen the pool of suspects, nowhere does DairyFat (oops) suggest that the first issue and the second issue were from the same club.
