Come and play in the Corporate Box Street Football Tournament. We need players to make up teams and represent a local business or Corporate or you can have your OWN TEAM.

Your team could win a $1000!

Well that's bloody odd:

DO YOU RATE YOURSELF?The Player’s Ranking System consists of the following: when you register, you will rate yourself from 1 to 4, with 4 being an Experienced Top Player, and 1 being a Social Player. This ranking reflects how good you ARE, not how good you WISH to be! Each ranking has a different entry cost, with ranking number 1 starting at $10, number 2 being $20, 3 $30 and last, 4 with $40. All these fees go towards the Cash Prize of $1000 for the winning team paid to the players. The higher ranked players receive a larger portion of the Prize

You pay more to enter the shitter you are, but you get less of the prize pool?

I do not understand.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

So they want to get in a whole bunch of top players that pay stuff all to win a larger chunk of cash that probably wont exist cause anyone that wants a 'kick about' has to pay more to enter knowing that they pay more to go to the better players?

I'm sure we already have this in play. I think its called NRFL and Central League....

I guess its to theoretically stop people from ranking themselves lower than their actual ability.

But still quite unfair that the people paying more, receive less of the prize.

So if you rank yourself higher, you pay less but have less a chance of winning unless everyone of shit ability ranks themselves higher too?

Why not just have a one category. $20 and you are in. If you are good enough to win, you take all and still allows the casuals wanting a kick about to have a fancy.

Seems a bit weird to be ranking yourself. But if I have understood it correctly it says 1-4 with 4 being experienced top player and 1 being social and the cost is $10 for number 1 up to $40 for 4 so surely the higher ranks are paying more?

Any idea what the surface is like? Is it like a turf or hard?

Oh yeah you're right I had that back to front.

THAT makes a lot more sense.

and yet amazingly you weren't the only one that read it wrong Smithy, others blindly followed along with you, not really surprised when you see who they were though.

I hope this is successful as its raising money for a good charity.

AT LAST! Someone who read it and understood it. I see now how football Clubs can pay too much money to players!

The surface is 20mm EVA.

We've just added another category for players who wish to remain faithful to their amateur status.  It's the O category and means you can play for free!

Check it out HERE

Boo! Cancelled due to lack of interest.

I'll be having a look at another 1 day Street Football tournament during the summer.

I love making teams for competitions like this but, I have a Commerical Pilots License and a degree in Finance, I couldn't be arsed reading the overcomplicated pricing.

There's my two cents.

Yeah it's a quandary we'll be working on. If you make it free you get no commitment on the day.

The next one will be a one day tournament that only teams can enter for a fee.
