I hope someone can help.
Just moved over to Wellington for a year & looking to play football, not a great time, as the season has just about ended.
Just wondering if there is any summer Football Team leagues coming up i can join to keep me active!
Id appreciate the help.

Heres the best summer league , http://www.summerleague.co.nz/ it's played at the back of Rongotai college thinks it's 9 aside from memory !
The answer to life's problems are rarely found at the bottom of a beer glass - but it's always worth a look.

Tony are you guys running some bigger sized leagues on the artificial? Maybe some hour long 9 aside matches?

We aren't sure what is going to be available to us on the artificials. We are having our usual 5 aside at Nairn, Te whaea and Fraser at the usual times.
I'm not sure what interest there would be in 9 aside. I'm only aware of Island Bay's one at Rongotai which I guess will try for time at Wakefeild.
We've regularly had over 200 teams playing 5 aside each season and I guess if we get enough interest in other versions we'll have a look at it. More likely that we would run an 11 aside if we can get the space.

What format you looking for?
Full size pitch? How many minutes each way? How much would you pay per game? When would you want to play Midweek or weekends? Would you travel each week or keep it to one venue or one area say wakefield and Te Whaea?

May as well do 11 a side, rather than 9 I would have thought.

I could call it the Wellington Sunday Football League!!!!!!

What if I advertised it on YF website?

Only 1 pitch though. I don't need to do that one. Mr Rodgers got everyone sorted for that.

An 11 aside summer league would be great, weekly at one spot, 8 team league, pay per game is always preferable, possibly an e-commerce feature on your website? I know a guy!

Paying per game is hard work for us. Too much mucking about on the day and getting $$ of players and/or Team managers, players not turning up etc. Meeting tomorrow with P&G so we'll see whats avaiable. Weekends or midweek?

Either is good over summer, pref no later than 7pm kick off for an 11 aside game.
Any word?

Nothing extra likely to happen on any of the turfs. P&G have said that Capital Football have them booked.

Anyone know what for? If it's just rep-training that's poor!

Explain how your social 11 a side league is more important than elite youth training?
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Elite youth training doesn't have to happen 7 evenings a week, and all day Saturday and Sunday.
Everyone needs access to those fields, not just the future.

Elite youth training isn't elite if it happens once a week.

Sorry but donkeys (including me) can play wherever. Good players (of whatever age) should get good facilities.

It's a change of tune from CF then, last summer they had them playing up at East Girls, sighting funding as the issue. That's a lot of coin to be dolling out to block out all the times.
Surely there's a way for everyone to share, but apparently not.

Just to put the record straight, from October onwards Capital Football do not have any use of Wakefield, Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs and Sat morn. Other codes Touch and Softball are using it.

Twilight Summer Football online registrations are open for the 2011/4 Season.
We are pleased to announce that there will now be 3 evenings of 5 aside football available at Te Whaea Artificial with the usual Sunday and Monday Leagues and now Thursday. Nairn St and Fraser Park is also available for the football purists that prefer grass.
A new Junior League also starts at Dyer St School.
