Hey team,

We have heard murmurs about an installation problem at Te Whaea park, no rubber underlay or something?

Does anyone have any idea about this at all? Or which company installed the turf at Te Whaea?

Cheers

there is no rubber shock pad as it was cheaper. Not the installers fault.

Wasn't also because it was an earlier generation of turf or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

It does have it's advantages though as my U21 goalie scored a cracking goal this season from his own goal box, you just gotta love a slippery surface and a big bounce  (I did feal sorry for the other keeper though).

Is this a problem that there was no rubber underlay? Should there have been? Whose fault is that?

Did the earlier generations not require shock pads?

may be better to have one if you are playing rugby and getting spear-tackled

Apparently the big problem is if you don't use the shock pads, the field wears and tears at a much faster rate.

I actually think Te Whaea is a better pitch to play on than Wakefield. Im surprised at these claims of the lack of shock pad as it hurts alot less when you hit the deck than Wakefield does. The grass blades are alot less course at Te Whaea
