Hi all,

Please note that a significant number of goalposts have gone missing from Hutt Valley grounds.

The grounds include Fraser Park, Sladden and Heretaunga.

This act of theft now places considerable pressure on Capital Football in a number of ways.
Firstly there is the cost of getting replacement goals. This could potentially impact on Capital Footballs expense budget.

More frustrating is that these grounds are now not available to use until replacement goals arrive.

These significantly impacts on the pressure we already have to schedule games.

Capital Football has contacted the Police and all local scrap merchants in order to try and apprehend the culprits.

Could all Club members be on the look out for any suspicious behavior around goalposts on football fields.
In particular, the moving of goalposts by anyone other than council staff.
If there does appear to be any activity untoward please notify the Police immediately.

Many thanks

We're on the only pitch at Fraser left with goals this week.  Might be a quiet day.

Did they take the Rugby posts as well?

people must be pretty desperate for probably 50-60 cents a kilo for steel. If they were copper or brass it might be more understandable.

False economy as I believe the posts are owned by Capital Football rather than the Councils anyway.

I know this was tongue uin cheek but...

I'm not 100% but I think that when i was down there on Wednesday there were no posts up for either code so maybe they went as well.

Bopman, any idea?

funny we were discussing this issue the other day and we came to the conclusion that we are in fact lucky as nobody in their right state of mind would steal the rusty, bent, old goal posts at Kelburn Park..

still, what these guys have done is despicable and cowardly. Hope they get caught.

Rugby had some crossbars pinched from Maidstone Park in Upper Hutt. Although the council man tells me that its a miracle they hadn't been taken sooner.

Although it would seem pretty obvious to spot someone nicking football posts nicking rugby posts would be another step up in obvious again.

there could be any reason behind why they were stolen, who knows what theyre being used for. ghetto scaffolding or some kind of framing somewhere for something.... worlds largest meth pipe?

Check the local laundries. Maybe they're being used as giant clothes horses Jag2011-04-05 14:34:45

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.
