Here we go again folks, the Tsunami U19 Boys Tournament and National U19 Girls Championship hosted by Coastal Spirit are underway, entries close 31st July. Events to be held in Christchurch over Labour weekend, for more info click here
Get down to Christchurch for a unique earthquake experience you'll never forget. One of the highlights of last years event was watching the Waterterside girls get off the bench when a little 4.5 aftershock rolled through .
Can Waterside Karori (Girls) and Nelson Suburbs (Boys) back up for repeat wins? Bring it on!

Karori not attending.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I hope that wasn't because of the wknd's action...

Greenie has set aside all of Labour Weekend for penalty practice.

Nah, I believe there is a clashing NZF event so Karori couldn't get their squad together.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Yes I knew that, just re-trolling... Shame that NZF can't sort out a 52 week calender so it doesn't clash. Quarterfinals of the womens clashed with U17 training camp, Semi and finals either side of Secondary School champs, and now the national U19 clashes with something else. Boo!

Draw has been released for the tournament which starts next weekend. 18 boys teams from around the South Island and 8 girls teams from inside CHCH. Should be a wicked weekend.

With the age of the players why called boys and girls rather then male and female

Results are up here. Coastal and FC2011 look the goods for the women's and Nelson, Coastal, Nomads and FC2011 are early leaders in their respective pools.

Final results for the tournament are here.

Was a fantastic weekend of football and sun. The Coastal boy's team won the male side of the draw and the Coastal girl's team won the female. Result!

Very good tournament, one of the most even across boy's and girls. Nomads very unlucky against Coastal in boy's semi final. Cashmere excelled in reaching the boy's final while the girl's final win to Coastal not as clear cut as the 4 - 2 scoreline would suggest, as FC2011 put up a good fight. Game was as good a display of football I've seen this year.
