Tony I'm intrigued by this lunchtime footy.  I might try to get a work team going - is there more info on the website (I couldnt find much apart from the registration bit).  e.g. format, number of players etc?  What is the skill level like?  Will it cater to my average (div 7) football abilities?

If it's true you are from Div 7 you will be fantastic. It's the same format as Twilight so checkout the Twilight page for more info . Games are only 15 minute halves though and it's at Kelburn Park on a Wednesday at the same time each week. We are trying to get a Thursday League going as well.

Grades are filling fast with all the old favourites so any new teams should hurry and get sorted before you miss out.! Te Whaea looks like a popular choice too. That will alter the traditional bumpy style of play adopted at Nairn.

How does the format work down here? How many players on the pitch at a time? snf how many subs are you allowed etc
Permalink Permalink

The game is 5 aside, 8 players allowed in a game with Rolling subs, 2 x 20 minute halves. 1 Round robin to get a league champ then 3 rounds of a KO games using seedings from the league placings  1v8, 2v7 etc. Losers from the first round go into the plate semis, Winners to the cup semis then finals and playoffs so everyone gets 10 games.
Games are played at the same time same place each week to make it easy for team managers and organisers.
Refs are provided so just turn up and play each week!
