Have you been thinking about some pre season training for the 2011 Footie season?

Come and play in Wellington's biggest and most popular Summer 5 aside football competitions. Last season over 200 teams competed.

Twilight 2011 and "Soccer for Lunch" kicks off soon at Te Whaea Artificial, Nairn St and Kelburn Parks. Fraser Park kicks off after Wellington Anniversary Weekend.

There are spaces left for teams wanting to compete and you can REGISTER HERE or CLICK HERE more info.

Thats the start of it. Next you'll be trying to see your feet so you can put your boots back on.

we played twilight the last few years at fraser park but quit in Dec.

Sorry to say it SZ, but the organisation and communication was absolutely woeful. I got really tired dealing with my grumpy team mates because we hadnt been told there was a double header, or the game started an HOUR late, or because we got told right on kick-off that we were no longer playing and had been bumped for another team, or it was cancelled and we weren't told at all, or an email showing our gametimes showed up less than 2 hours before kick off and contained major changes, the list goes on. Some of these things only happened in '09 but cripes it just got too tough to deal with.

Must admit though, played one season at nairn st and the organisation there was much better - refereeing quality was decent too.

Good feedback though I'm unsure why you think Nairn was better as it's all run on the same system

just the communication was better - as an example, 'are there double headers next week' was met with different answers at each place;

Nairn: 'yes', 'no', or 'not sure yet, we will let you know as soon as we can'
Fraser: 'how should i know'

apart from that, i was impressed with the refereeing standard at nairn st. Especially Selwyn, that guy's a champion.

fraser is woeful, teenagers who let the loudest and most aggressive person on the pitch run the game
